Joemma Beach State Park Campground

At $12 a night, it’s a real deal! There’s easy access to the beach, a pretty overlook on the trail, clean vault toilets, and sites with tables and fire pits.

Joemma State Park campground is no longer all first come first serve only. It is now reservable online, but if you get there and there is an available spot it is $12 a night that you pay at site. The host is on site and checks the areas very regularly. You cannot camp in your car in the parking lot. You can only stay at the camp site for 1 night at a time. Long dock in the area where you can go fishing. You can walk along the beach as well.

Such a beautiful and well kept camping area. Came for a first come, first serve spot and scored spot 8. Conveniently located right next to the bathroom with an area for parking two vehicles. I have AT&T and had good service in this spot. Across from our campsite is a trail that leads down to the pier and walk to the beach. The weather was very good considering it was supposed to be flash flooding when we visited.

Several sites have gorgeous views of the water. Simple, small, peaceful campground with pit toilets and potable water.

Mid week after Labor Day, I had my choice of sites arriving in late afternoon.

I arrived on a Monday and had no issue finding a spot in the first come/no rsvp side. Views from campground are great and enjoyed walking the few trails w/ my dogs. T-mobile service spotty - could not use hotspot. Had to drive about 15 mins down road to park to access 5G.

Overall, the sites were nice and well maintained with park staff out daily looking for litter. There were constantly people coming in and out both for camping and day use and several groups with lots of children that were pretty noisy but to be expected. I don’t think you can beat the price at $12/night, only drop toilets, potable water and dumpsters for amenities though

We camped here during a 3 days bike camping trips. The camping has a few biker-hikers and marine sites that can’t be reserved and are FCFS. We went with another couple and got lucky because nobody else was there so could pick the best spots. The host were amazing, did show us where we could camp when we showed up in the campground on our bicycles and even brought fire woods to our sites. I would go back.

I had to cap the families because our first night Campsite Karen went crazy because I was camping with kids. I honestly still have no idea what happened, but we were actually very quiet whispering walking back to our campsite and she followed my 2yo son and I in the dark, in the woods.

But as a local, this is also the spot where you go to camp and party with friends and family. So if you’re looking for quiet, that’s not always the case here. Be ready for tranquility or a party and join in the fun.

If you like simple camping, this is a great place. There are about 16 campsites and you can walk down to the beach area. It is dog friendly, and they should be on leash. It's really quiet and peaceful here. You cannot reserve this state campsite online and so it is first come first serve. If you have a boat or a kayak, they have sites set aside in addition to the ones mentioned above that you can kayak to and stay. Love this place....will be back to enjoy it for sure!

Basic campsites with restrooms withixn reasonable distance. Beach is beautiful!
