Nice high elevation camp

UPDATE: road has been torn up to gravel last 4 mi or so. Intent is to repave it but as of June 20 2024 it was washboard dusty gravel last few miles to top.

Small campground at end of paved road. Only a few sites can handle RVs, total of 8 sites but # 2-5 are large enough for TT or RVs, $12 nite, 14d limit. Vault toilet, but NO water and no trash. No reservations, all sites are FF. Camp host is onsite at the cabin A-frame info bldg. Large area of horse trailer parking and hiking TH parking adjacent. No cell service but short distance down main paved at a viewpoint cell signal seems to connect. 10 miles from Pinedale, this is really just the end of road parking for access to wilderness trails above. CG elevation is 9350 ft.

Beautiful sunsets Bad Mosquitoes

We stayed for a quick overnight. Campground was clean and had hiking and biking trails that leave right from the campground. little/no cell service. Campground had vault toilets but no running water available. Pack in what you need and download maps before entering. Bugs and flies were pretty bad but it didnt deter us from enjoying the sunset.

Camping before backpacking the Winds

Very nice small campground but very good privacy between sites. I camped here before backpacking the Wind River  Range. No water. But did have a very clean bathroom and excellent paved road to campground. The campsite was $12 .

Tons of traffic

Campsite is $7/night which isn't bad. Super calm and isolated sites. Tiny camp sites for tent camping. There was enough room for a tent, hammock and chair and nothing else. The rangers were very nice and everyone was friendly. Basically no privacy at these sites but everyone was quiet so it wasn't a big deal. The reason I'm giving the site 3 stars is because of how much traffic there was. I saw approximately 35 cars drive by 12 hours. This is a high traffic area.

Trails End

We just visited Trails End earlier this month and had a great stay there. We camped in Site 1 out of the 8 and had lots of privacy. The next morning we started a backpacking trip into Titcomb Basin and the location was perfect for that. Other than the road construction on the way up, it was a nice scenic drive. Highly recommended.
