Primitive National Forest Campground with Sandy Beach

$12 fee. Paid $6 with senior pass. Camped here for a few nights in the middle of September 2024. Camped one night in site #17, then moved the next day to site #13 along the lake. Beautiful wooded campground. Good primitive campground along a beautiful lake. Our site, site#13, backs up to the lake and has a private path to the lake's beach. The campground has a mix of pull-thru and back-in sites. Lots of trees on the campground. Several sites have enough foliage between them to offer privacy. Some sites are large; some are small. I didn't see any sites that offer good tent camping opportunities. Most sites are suitable for camper vans, car camping, RTTs and truck campers. I saw one towable. I don't think this campground can easily accommodate large rigs. There are two clean his/hers vault toilets, stock with tp. I couldn't find water. The campground has gravel/dirt roads and site driveways. Each site has a table, metal firering& bearbox. The forest road accessing the campground is gravel. The campground is well maintained. No hiking trails at the campground. The sandy beach on the lake was nice for a stroll. Also tried fishing, but no luck. No T-Mobile nor AT&T cell service. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice lakeside but small n tight

Small campground, 17 total sites, sites $12/,$6.50 senior. About 2/3 of the the sites can be reserved, rest are FF. No camp host onsite. Sites are tucked into dense willow-aspen shrubs and only a few have paths direct to the lake, but there are two overflow parking spots that allow access to the beaches on lake. Bugs are likely bad at times. Roads into this CG are narrow and sketchy for large rvs or travel trailers. Cell service is none. A private lodge is farther down the access Rd toward the hiking TH. Road to the TH is narrow, rocky and limited parking, very limited turnaround for trailers

Dry campsite with small beach

We stayed at this small campground for a couple days. Only about 10 spots and nice access to a beach area.

The campsite has a vault toilet but no water. $7 per night and no reservations

There was a rowdy trashy element at the campsite during our visit. This would be a great campsite if the host enforced rules about the number of vehicles / campers / quiet hours.

Pretty Good

It’s a decent place, you are definitely in the trees! Super close to the lake.

Love this place!

This is an absolutely beautiful place to camp. Sites are reservable and it does fill up. They have both pull through and back in sites. Sites have picnic tables and fire rings. All sites are close enough to walk to the lake. You will need your bug spray. There is a boat dock just up the road from the campground. The lodge has cabins and a bar/restaurant but you can’t count on it being open. The campground provides toilets and garbage. It is just close enough to town that it isn’t a big deal to run and get what you need.
