Dispersed Camping

White Rock Canyon Dispersed Site

White Rock Canyon Dispersed Site, near Medicine Bow, Wyoming, is a remote spot that offers a true escape into nature. This area is surrounded by beautiful trees, and as the seasons change, the aspen trees put on a stunning display of yellow, making it a picturesque backdrop for your camping experience.

The location is perfect for those who enjoy solitude, with plenty of space for camping without the crowds. Visitors have noted that it’s a nice, isolated area just five miles from the main highway, providing a peaceful retreat. While amenities are limited—there's no drinking water or restrooms—campers appreciate the freedom to have fires and the abundance of firewood available.

For those who like to stay connected, cell service can be hit or miss, but some have found Verizon to be usable. If you're planning to hike, the surrounding landscape offers plenty of trails to explore. Just remember, this isn't a place for big rigs; the roads can be steep and washboarded, so be prepared for a bit of a bumpy ride. As one camper put it, “The location is beautiful and remote,” making it a great choice for those looking to unwind in nature.

Not great for large rigs... but doable.

We have a 36 ft fifthwheel. The road has washboard and is quite steep in places. The biggest issue was finding a place to turn around. We did find a place to stay but most were already filled with hunting campers that had been brought up and left. I'm guessing hunting season starts next week and they have staked their claim. No sites are level so bring your legos. We work from our camper so cell service was important. T-mobile was dismal, but Verizon was usable with a solid 4G 2bars. The location is beautiful and remote. Lots of trees and the aspen are turning yellow. Probably won't come back again but plan to hike around and enjoy the area while we are here.

Solid dispersed camping

Near freeway, relatively secluded. Good camp site, some areas RV friendly. Tent sites hard to come by at night

Roadside Pullouts

AT&T 1-2 bars depending your location. Road in is about 5 miles, keeps going to few pullouts. Huge area for camping in groups if you continue down road make left. Use satellite view you’ll see what I’m talking about. 16 day limit. No water, garbage, restrooms, firewood everywhere no sure restrictions.
