Good for the night

Can be a busy campground depending on what time of year it is. Super close to everything on top of Snowy range though. Rough road getting in.

Great alternative to Sugarloaf Campground

As usual, Sugarloaf campground was full. Fortunately, I just had to go to opposite side of the highway for a good secluded campsite. About 3 other campers were here, but I was able to find a a secluded campsite behind some trees. Dogs appreciated being off leash.

Beautiful Views

This was my first ever camping trip and I was so impressed with the setup and the views ! You do have to get the right spot for the views but other than that I absolutely enjoyed this place and will most likely come back! The road is very bumpy so take your time driving on it. 4WD is a must.

Great views

My first choice of dispersed sites was still covered in snow, this ended up being a pleasant surprise. Great views and level site. And moose!

NEED 4WD

4WD and decent clearance is a must. The road is in rough shape and sections had standing water and mud with deep ruts. None of the sites really had great views, but the road was nice and quiet overall. Location was a plus - this is within 15 minutes of lots of hikes in the Snowy Range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Forest Road 318 suitable for RVs or trailers?

Forest Road 318 is not suitable for RVs or trailers.
