Deer and antelope still play near the Casper KOA Campground and RV Park. More than 75 percent of the world's pronghorn antelope live within a 90-mile radius of Wyoming's second-largest city. In many places, the Plains look unchanged from the days when the Oregon, California, Mormon, Bridger, Bozeman and Pony Express trails converged here along the North Platte River. Trail ruts are still visible. Visit the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center or browse pioneer exhibits at the Fort Caspar Museum and Historic Site.

The campground is located in the town of Bar Nunn, five miles north of downtown Casper. At an elevation of 5,284 feet, the campground overlooks the City of Casper and commands an excellent view of the city and Casper Mountain to the south. Public tennis and basketball courts and a baseball diamond are located across the street, and golfers can choose from two public courses, one of which was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Or just relax in the big covered pool at the Casper KOA (Memorial Day to Labor Day). The whole family can make itself at home here with mini golf, a playground and a pet walk.

Casper KOA is the only onsite owner operated full service campground in the area. We offer free restrooms with hot showers, a 24 hour coin op laundry and a convenience store and gift shop. And we welcome long-term campers all year round. Please join us on your next trip through Wyoming!

    Ok for a night

The staff is amazing. The store is adorable. The sites are spacious.

The road noise is definitely audible.

There’s a cool restaurant just behind the park called The Hangar. Great atmosphere and good food. This worked for us for one night, and you’ll likely see antelope on your way in.

    …At least there’s a dog park

I liked the little dog park and river access.

I mostly didn’t like everything else… from what I’ve been gathering, they put their long-term stays in worse sites which seems strange? RV sites are extremely small. Whoever was in charge of the website's marketing did a bang-up job, because let me tell you, the reality is a far cry from those picture-perfect images.

This campground, is nothing more than a flat, uninspiring patch of land that will transform into a mud pit at the first sight of rain. Shade? Forget about it. You'd be luckier finding a needle in a haystack than a sliver of shade here. And good luck tracking down any staff – it's like they've perfected the art of hide and seek. The office "closed" sign is practically a permanent fixture. So, if you're in the middle of a long-term stay and something goes awry– you're pretty much on your own.

What I LIKED: The little dog park and there's also river access, adding a touch of nature's charm to the experience.

    Great Location! Attentive staff

Neat location with direct access to a park like area along the North Platte River. I took the dogs for a swim on a hot August afternoon.

Staff was very helpful. Park was clean, sites were well maintained.

Platte River RV Park & Campground

    Super organized

We were using this campground as just a stop on the way to Grand Teton. It was convenient off the highway. Close together, but it's an RV park after all ...it was super clean, owner was super nice and very organized....provided with a list of rules and there are a bunch of signs.

We were able to do laundry here and it has a dog park area with dog poop balls and a ball and tug of war toys. My dog loved this!!!

Platte river was at the back of the campground and you can go down and hang out. Mosquitoes bad at night though down by the river! We had a good experience for a quick stop. $53 for full hookup etc. It's the only thing they had other than non electric, as we booked same day.

    Off season

We stopped here for one night in late April. Registered for a primitive pull thru site online. Arrived after 6, no one around, no one answered the phone. So we just grabbed a spot, no problem. One restroom, one shower, both clean.

Very Very Nice Restrooms and Showers

Alongside a creek outside of Casper, sits this very quaint RV park. Open all year, a great rest stop to get out of windy conditions if I-25 is closed. Trees at most campsites. Was really impressed with how clean the restrooms and showers were.

    We Really Enjoyed this Park

The campground(CG) was easy to find and check-in was a breeze. We were originally in site 53 right across from the office but that would have been way too small so we were moved to site 43 which is a long FHUs pull-through. The manager spent time chatting with us about the CG and interesting happenings this last season. The utilities were smartly placed in the middle of the site. WiFi was above average. There were a few seasonal residents who were working in the area. We got a solid variety of OTA channels and were able to get our satellite to connect. The trees in the CG are young so provide some shade. Our site didn’t have cable but some do. There are also premium sites down by the North Platte river that runs adjacent to the CG. There are also tent sites by the river. There is a fiber optic cable facility near the CG that runs 24/7 to include weekends, so there is some noise during the night i.e. backup beeping from forklifts. However, our air conditioner and/or sound machine easily drowned out the noise. As this CG is right outside Casper, there are a ton of amenities nearby. There are nice areas to walk our pups by the river. We enjoyed our two nights stay to include doing some fly fishing in the river at the CG and would definitely come back.

We needed a quick overnight spot to hookup. It was where we needed to stop and we got through the night and showered and left.

Nice spot for RV near river

This was a halfway spot between Black Hills SD and Yellowstone. Very nice clean place, enough space around RV’s, there are trees, and it’s off the main highway. Good t-mobile service.

    Amazing Stop!!

Beautiful sites right on the river. We were in site 87 for just one night. Most sites have full hookups, ours had all but sewer. They have a dump station though.

Each site has a turf area with clean and maintained patio furniture.

Clean showers/bathrooms. Riverside is mowed down low, big grass fields. Bring mosquito spray though!

    Wonderful river campground

I reserved the campsite on a whim. If you have RV great, if you have SUV and RTT the have riverside site that are excellent. You have to see it to believe it. Some highway noise, but not bad.

    Our first KOA

Excellent service from the staff! A clean, refreshing indoor pool! Laundry was $1.50 per wash, and per dry! The cheapest laundry we have seen so far since Vermont (our laundry cycle = weekly/bi-weekly). Great facilities and a cute camp store’

    Good for a stopover

This was a great spot for a one night stay; if we fished, it would be even better for a longer stay.

Pros: incredibly nice and accommodating staff, very clean, great seating on RV spots, lots of seating next to the river and by playground, good playground, extra toys for kids near playground

Cons: not a lot of space between RV spots, all gravel (but they laid down about 10’ of astroturf on each RV spot), river is more for fishing than anything else
