Free to use and managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Bolton Creek sits on BLM land near camping near Alcova in central Wyoming. The site has no developed facilities and no shade, so expect full sun exposure during the day with cooler temperatures after dark. Pets are not permitted. The area sees low traffic, and the creek proximity gives campers a natural landmark for orientation. Campers who can handle open, exposed conditions and want an uncrowded overnight stop will find it workable for self-contained rigs.

Bolton Creek is a popular fishing, picnicking and primitive dispersed camping site. It has an access road and small parking area. There are no developed facilities here other than roads.
