Octonto River - South Branch

Sitting along the South Branch of the Oconto River in the Nicolet National Forest, this two-site dispersed area doubles as a trailhead, giving access to both fishing and hiking. The sites are well-spaced: the first has more open sky overhead, which matters for solar panels or satellite equipment, while the second sits tucked at the turnaround end of the road. A maintained vault toilet is on-site. The fee is $5 per day without a Golden or Access pass, and RVs are limited to 25 feet. Anglers and hikers looking at campsites near Townsend will find other options in the area, including Boot Lake Campground roughly three miles northwest.

Peace for $5

There are 2 campsites at this trailhead, pretty well spaced apart.

The first has more of an opening if solar and Starlink matter to you. The second was tucked in the back where the road turns around.

There is a clean and maintained vault toilet.

Unless you have the Golden or Access pass, it is $5/day.
