Sitting along the South Branch of the Oconto River in the Nicolet National Forest, this two-site dispersed area doubles as a trailhead, giving access to both fishing and hiking. The sites are well-spaced: the first has more open sky overhead, which matters for solar panels or satellite equipment, while the second sits tucked at the turnaround end of the road. A maintained vault toilet is on-site. The fee is $5 per day without a Golden or Access pass, and RVs are limited to 25 feet. Anglers and hikers looking at campsites near Townsend will find other options in the area, including Boot Lake Campground roughly three miles northwest.
