Boat-in access brings campers to this two-site National Park Service campground on Basswood Island within Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Sites 5 and 6 sit in forested terrain and include picnic tables, with vault toilets available and campfires permitted. Reservations can be made for the $15 per night sites, and pets are welcome.
The rough access requires watercraft to reach the island, making this a more remote camping experience compared to mainland options. Campers planning extended stays in the region can explore campgrounds near Bayfield for easier access points before or after their island adventure.
