RangerThis is a great campground. It's directly on the lake, and it's connected to a bike trail that you can take to downtown or farther north along the lake. You can follow it all the way to the end of town where you'll find a large beach and (free) artisan well water. The water is delicious and very cold!
The shower house is very clean and has private rooms. A code is necessary to gain access to the bathrooms/showers.
Some leveling will be required at most sites, but not much. The camp host was very friendly and easy to work with.
The best part in my opinion is the trail. You can follow it to cross under the highway and access the downtown area, which is great. There are lots of unique shops and restaurants, as well as a library and an amazing grocery store.
This campground was mostly full when I was there. There is an overflow area (a marina parking lot) adjacent to the campground you can use for $25/night if the campground is full. There are no hookups in the overflow parking lot.
I had great 5G T-mobile signal here, and decent 4G Verizon signal inside the camper. Outside the camper I could get a good 5G Verizon signal.
Will definitely visit again.
RangerI enjoyed my urban camping experience at this "campground". You get a double-width parking spot, which is room enough for a trailer and tow vehicle. Each site has a picnic table. There are two groups of sites, the front row and the back row. The front row has better views, and have electric and water hookups. The back row has full hookups.
The bathroom and shower is part of a hotel which is on the property, and were extremely clean. There are laundry facilities, which worked great and only cost $3 each.
The owners are friendly and will enforce quiet hours if asked.
I had excellent 5G Verizon and T-mobile signals here.
The main selling point of this campground is the close proximity to the Canal Park area, which has restaurants and shops, as well as the Lakewalk which is a wide, well kept trail that runs along the lake. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Canal Park area. You'll need to cross the lift bridge to get there, which is fun in itself but sometimes you'll need to wait for the bridge to return to operation after letting a ship pass underneath.
There is a great marine museum in the Canal Park area, and the Great Lakes Aquarium is about 15 minutes further past Canal Park. Downtown is also accessible, probably a 20 minute walk from Canal Park. There are many ramps & stairs linking the Lakewalk to Downtown.
The urban trails around this area are really great. Plenty of room for walkers and bicyclists.
RangerThis small park is showing it's age. The roads are in bad shape, as are the benches. The "lookouts" are so overgrown you can see nothing but trees. There is no dump station, but there are some water faucets spread throughout the campground.
The campsites are close together and mostly dirt & sand, a very fine sand which sticks to your shoes. There are no showers or flush toilets, but there are two pit-toilet bathrooms. I did not use them so I can't comment on them.
I think all the sites will require quite a bit of leveling. The sites a small, this campground is best for tent campers or small campers. Some of the roads are very steep. You can access Lake Superior at this campground, but it's not an easy trek to get down to the shore. It is shallow enough to "swim" there.

I think the main selling point of this campground is it's close proximity to Bayfield. Unfortunately you have to walk along a highway to get into bayfield. There are sidewalks along some of the route but not all of it.
Bayfield itself is a fine place to visit for a day. I didn't find the public spaces to be all that great. None of the public bathrooms have water fountains and they were not very clean. But the areas down by the water are nice, and there is a beach.
ScoutWe had a group of 7 at one campsite (3 of them being under 5). Its kind of hard to find some of the camp sites but when you do find them they have tables and rock fire rings. Outhouse was a pit toilet which didn't smell to bad and was nice they had a light in it. The garbage is also right next to the toilet. Again very beautiful, but with a little more maintenance definitely could be a five star!
GuideSpacious RV spots with additional tent sites on each one. Unlike what other people have found if you are willing to cart your water by bucket and your camper has a siphon feature there is potable water available throughout the park. We are 47 feet without the truck and fit in a 50 foot spot. 55 foot with our rear deck extended.
LegendStayed 4 nights. It is the start of the bike trails up the coast and has a huge number of trails. Super busy though but one of the few spots with enough sites one can see both the lake, falls and a baby stream with lots of hiking and biking traila.
