This KOA is a Keeper

This is a very cozy park tucked in between US60 and I64. We are in site 14 and its not quite level, but they were generous with gravel so the drainage is good! No parking in puddles! The staff is great, friendly, upbeat. The gentleman who led us to the site helped us get positioned, and squared up.The site has a patio, bench, picnic table, fire pit, and a huge gas grill. There is more privacy than usual at KOA, pine trees between sites.Well be back! You do have to watch for the entrance, there is a big KOA sign but its not aligned with the actual turn, so be careful.

Great Overnighter

Super convenient, great facility. Sites are concrete and level. If you’re getting off the highway for an overnight stay these Loves are perfect. This one is well located for our travels and we’ll be back. Did this stay completely online.

Don't come here (LOL)

Don't come here, because it'll make it harder for the rest of us!

This is a wonderful, but maybe too small campground. The views are gorgeous especially in the morning and evening light. The customers seem very nice, and well mannered. The staff is just exceptional.

You can spend an afternoon on the deck with a beverage. There will likely be some folks fishing, and there's a good chance you'll see Dolphin, and maybe Manatee. If there is a launch from Kennedy Space Center you can see that too, although you're about 20 miles away, still really impressive.

This is just one of those wonderful places where you can come to relax and unwind. Unassuming, at the end of a dead end road. Just a little piece of paradise.

And of course it is a campground, so the sites are a little narrow, the wifi's not good, blah, blah, blah. So you know, don't come here. :)

Split Personality

This campground has a split personality. The west side has nice wide concrete sites, the east side is on dirt and gravel and not so nice. When I made my reservation I missed the pick your site($30 add on?), but given the difference between the two sides, it would have been worth it. This is definitely a KOA Journey, hookups work, good for a night or two, but not a destination. I didn't think it is quite as close to the Space Center as described.

Some long term residents, many on the east side, and the roads aren't very wide. The gentleman who escorted us to our site took us off the road and out into the grass to get around a tree to make the turn workable. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful.

Oh, if you look at this campground on Google's satellite view, be aware that there is a different campground that wraps the KOA on the west, and south. If you see tennis courts, you're looking at the wrong campground.

Given the history of this area I had high expectations. If you get one of the nice new sites, then I think it's worthwhile, otherwise this is one of the few KOAs that I don't think I will recommend for more than a night maybe two.

Good for a one night stop

I like the campground, clean, well organized, the missing two stars are not because of the campground, but because of it's location.

1. It is not in a great part of town.

2. It is right off I-40, very convenient, but very noisy.

And then there is the traffic on I-40, ugh.

We'll stay there again, it is a very nice facility, and works very well for an overnight. The location just isn't my favorite.

Good for an overnight stay

This is a small, older campground. It is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We probably are a little late in the season, not real busy (early November). Hookups all work, no problems. Sites are gravel and maybe a little rutted, some more gravel would help level things up. I don’t know exactly how KOA differentiates between Holidays and Journeys but this seems more like other Journeys we’ve stayed at.
