Jamaica State Park Campground

This was our second stay at this Vermont State Park. It was a great three days. The park rangers were tremendous in ensuring we had a delightful visit. They worked with us to get the right site. The bathroom facilities, while rustic, were clean. There is a plethora of things to do in the park itself and in the local community. Nonetheless, it starts and ends with the management of the campground. Lauren, the campground manager, and her team of professionals, do a great job. We will definitely return.

This campground was perfect for our group that had 5 small children. The kids were able to safely ride bikes on the camp roads, sites were large and well spaced out from each other, great playground and fun playing in the river. Amazing programming options from the ranger staff each day

This is a cute little campground with walking/biking/hiking trails. A river to dip in and good amenities like showers, bathrooms and firewood/ice. Little park for kids and a hoop. Make sure you stock up before your get there, stuff is expensive at the corner stores. I had no phone service (Verizon) anywhere in the park. Went to the front office to suck off their WiFi.

Same as most state parks, nice sites, very wooded. Pay showers(50 cents)

When a group of us stayed it was clean and friendly. People were not loud (well we were loud lol) but the river and hiking areas around the park are fantastic

Spent 3 nights here and enjoyed every minute!  Very well maintained sites and trails for hiking and biking.  Be prepared for no hook-ups but there is a dump station for self-contained toilets.

Enjoyed this campground! Nice well maintained sites. Stayed in Ironwood lean- to. Site was private with fire ring, picnic table and spacious lean -to.  Went in early May and the river was running high. Loved the walking trail along the river...great for biking. Quick walk to town and small general store. Nice, helpful staff. I would go back! I bet it is beautiful in the fall!

Drove in on a whim and were pleasantly surprised by how well the staff accommodated us. We managed to get a prime leanto site right on the river. We were only there for an overnight but we will be back. In the Spring the water is released behind Ball Dam, creating a white water adventure. The prime lean-to sites on the water are beautiful and spacious.

The sites were nice and well spread out. Our stay was very quiet. Beach area was ok. I thought the river was kind of yucky but it didn't stop my kids from swimming. Good hiking nearby.

Nice little weekend getaway. Clean bathrooms, roomy tent sites, nice staff. Fun playground and nature area for kids. Very family friendly place with beautiful hikes to Hamilton falls.

Very clean and enjoyable. We have gone here a couple times exceeding our expectations.

Very beautiful campground with a few great hikes. We had the whole campground to ourselves during the week. Camped right on the river on one of their lean to sites. A little pricey but worth it. Large sites. Cleanest campground I've been in. Everyone was so kind and helpful.

I love the area around Jamaica State Park and have stayed a few times! There is plenty of trails in the area and you can go to the waterfall/rock slides and take a dip in the pools. The area is beautiful and good food across the street!

My girlfriend and I stayed here May 11-13th. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the tent and lean-to sites were all kept very clean. Bathrooms and showers were also kept nice and clean which is always a plus. Our tent site was very spacious, you could of easily accommodated a family of four with a large tent. Some sites, however, were a little close together, so if you're looking for total privacy choose your site wisely. We hiked the west river trail (which leads right out of the campground) to Hamilton falls which is a gravel closed road that follows the west river upstream 2 miles to Hamilton falls trail which then leads up hill for another mile to the falls. People have lost their lives at these falls so be extra cautious with children around the falls. Overall our experience at Jamaica state park was great. I will definitely be returning to this campground in the future.

I've visited this park and campground numerous times! The sites are great and well cared for with friendly staff and clean amenities. Book your site early to get a lean-to or a site near the river...it's stunning in the morning with the mountain mist rolling through!! If you're into kayaking book early for the annual dam release event (September)...the river becomes a great spot for some rapids! Hike the scenic trail and take a right upward to Hamilton Falls, a gorgeous waterfall!! But heed the warning sign, people really have died at this waterfall, as recently as summer of 2016. There's also another waterfall (Pikes Falls) - a short drive away and Stratton Mountain/Resort is not too far either. Also dog friendly 🐶

Jamaica is a nice little state park nestled in the woods and by a nice River. Very family friendly and close to Manchester and Stratton and Bromley Mountains. We have returned many years and find it buggy every time but otherwise a great experience.

The campsites were beautiful with the river behind us. Not to many people there so we're got the best spot. The bathrooms are sanitary and are not port-a-potties. For us, they also had a playground to play at, and a boat dock to kayak. The bugs were not fun in the summer. At night, we all had a great sleeping night with no crazy neighbors or dogs. I would recommend it to anyone with children or who love to move. And a few miles from there was the ski resort, Bromli Mnt. With fun activities to do in the summer or winter!
