Great campground and location

Our favorite campground in the area is Winhall Brook, but it has been closed for about 3 years since the flooding in VT. Hapgood Pond is a good alternative. It is a little more primitive with pit toilets in most of the campground except the bath house. We appreciate the pond for swimming and the nice easy pond loop trail for hiking. Hapgood is in close proximity to Manchester and near the Appalachian Trail.

Nice camping and pond

Nice campground. Super easy check in process. Some noise until quiet hours then was pretty quiet night. Super nice bathroom and shower facilities. Verizon service and starlink worked great.

Nice campground

We stayed at this campground for 1 night and it was very clean and quiet. Arrived after dark for a first come first served site and took #1 right across the welcome kiosk. The pond has a nice easy 1 mile trail that loops around the pond. A little bit of cell service (2 bars) with Verizon

Hidden Gem

Hapgood Pond Campground was created during the Works Project era. There is a very nice Day use and picnic area including a nice sandy beach and bathhouse. The surrounding grounds are mostly manicured fields. The campground itself is mostly contained within surrounding mixed soft and hard wood forest. there is a mixture of shaded and sunny sites available. There is a nice hike around the pond itself for a short walk. We enjoyed our stay and will look forward to a return visit.
