There were a couple spots that were semi private but most were very exposed. Lots of area on some of them though for multiple tents. The river is right there and makes some beautiful yet subtle white noise. It is in provo canyon and the cliffs on either side are very impressive. The walk from the campsite to bridal falls is also lovely!
There are two RV spots with free electrical and water. We camped wIth a tent in the one closest to the tree…. both overlook a cute pond. They aren’t sheltered or hidden from the rest of the park though which was kinda weird when the kids from the baseball field nearby were staring at us putting up the tent.
I feel we got lucky with our camp site, not close to the RVs and hidden by shrubbery from other sites. We went in late April 2017, a bit windy and cold but worth it! Beautiful hiking trail that starts at the mouth of the campground. Its is close to Bryce, Kodachrome, and Staircase. If you don’t mind gravel road driving you can even get a trail that leads to Lake Powel. There are facilities for showering and bathrooms. It is also right on the edge of a lake.
Behind Mount Timp along the 92 passed Sundance and Aspen Grove is a beautiful area full aspen and fir. Plenty of room for dispersed camping. I know it is free for one or two nights. Hiking trails that follow the road or gonup the mountain. Teeming with Wildlife. The road to it is closed during winter/spring.
