Accessible only by hiking into Zion's southwest desert wilderness, Temple View Southwest Desert Campsite 1 requires advance planning and backpacking gear. The National Park Service manages this hike-in site with paid permits required for overnight stays.
Located within the park's backcountry camping system, the site sits among several other desert wilderness camping areas including Scoggins Wash Southwest Desert — Zion National Park and Junction Site Southwest Desert. Campers must carry all water and supplies, as no facilities exist at the remote location. Check current permit availability and wilderness regulations before planning your trip.
Description
Just off the Chinle Trail to the south on a small ridge. As the name states, great views of the West Temple but also of Mount Kinasava and Scoggins Wash. This site has a maximum group size of 6 and is available for walk-up permit only.

Availability: First-Come, First-Serve, Walk-In Basis Permits must be obtained in person the day before, or day of the trip during regular Hours of Operation from the Wilderness Desk.
