Great Campground & Staff.
We stayed here through January & February of 2022. Its a large park with tons of trails and the amenities from Breckenridge across the street are included (I played a lot of Disc Golf). We highly recommend this campground. Site 98 is the best in the entire park in my opinion.

Great place to relax!
Close to the Texas coast line, closest town is Edna. Be stocked up with all the goodies you enjoy. Closet Walmart is about 20 miles away. It was warm and sunny when we visited Oct 1, 2021. Lots of wild live to keep your interests, including alligators. Texana has a limited number of full service slots, so book in advance.
Overall love it
They have deer and bathrooms and showers parks for the kids fishing you can bring a small pool for the little ones an beautiful

Wildlife, fishing, kayaking
Sites are very spacious, each has its own picnic table on a concrete pad. Lots of privacy, most sites are separated by 15' widths of trees and shrubs which act as a privacy wall. There is a little climbing playground for little ones. Fishing piers and a nature center currently being built and it is going to be huge! We've been here three days and have seen 4 armadillos, 5 squirrels, 7 deer and 1 raccoon. The neighbor said she has camped here 6 times and only seen 1 teeny tiny gator. Only thing missing for my likes is a swimming pool. You can't get into this water, pretty murky and lily pads
Updating Park
Very nice park it is run by the Lavaca Navidad River Authority. They are building a brand new nature center. The trails are well maintained, clean restrooms grounds are kept up. Large campground on Lake Texana with swimming and fishing.
Brackenridge Recreation Complex
Diverse environments to explore by kayak or hiking trail, plus horse trails, fishing, nature center, historic buildings, and a full event center.
Yay: Camping includes typical tent/RV sites or cabins. Our campsite was right along the water, which was pretty (it’s a reservoir along a river).
Nay: it’s pretty busy, but not overly loud or dirty.
Surprise: lots of wildlife here! There are events throughout the year...we visited during a charity race but that didn’t really impact our trip (aside from the campground being full). They frequently have rodeo/horse events too...very Texas! The historic church was more interesting than we expected.
Lake Texana
This is a pretty Texas-y park with a church and event center on site. Nice wetlands, fishing, forests, lake, all very pretty but there are bugs and gators (and deer). Lots of camp site choices and many are on the water, a little shade, nice trees. Some people go out on the water for fishing pretty early so we didn’t get to sleep in but it was still really nice.
nice
site: good space. shaded. mostly private. amenities: busy. clean. modern. attractions: hiking. biking. fishing. I would go camping here again.
