    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Camping opportunities near Cuero, Texas range from full-service RV parks to state park campgrounds along the Guadalupe River. The Guadalupe at Cuero RV Park provides sites along the river's edge with electric, water, and sewer hookups, while Palmetto State Park Campground offers tent, RV, and cabin camping options about 30 miles northwest. Coleto Creek Reservoir and Park provides water-based recreation with multiple accommodation types including glamping facilities. Victoria City RV Park and Hub City RV Park in Yoakum represent additional established campgrounds with varying amenity levels throughout the region.

Road conditions generally remain accessible year-round with most campgrounds featuring drive-in access on maintained roads. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 90°F with high humidity, making spring and fall more comfortable for tent camping. "The site is smallish but clean and easy to hookup. The staff was extremely nice," noted one camper at Victoria Coleto Creek Lake KOA. Most RV parks in the area offer full hookups with 50-amp service, though tent camping options are more limited. Advance reservations are recommended for weekend stays, especially at state parks and during holiday periods. Cell service remains reliable throughout most of the region, with ATT, Verizon and T-Mobile coverage reported at multiple campgrounds.

Waterfront camping represents a significant draw in the Cuero area, with several campgrounds situated along the Guadalupe River or near Coleto Creek Reservoir. Campers frequently mention the abundance of wildlife, particularly deer that roam freely through some campgrounds. Lake Wood Recreation Area, approximately 25 miles northwest of Cuero, receives positive reviews for its riverside location and pecan tree shade. A visitor remarked, "Great spot to get away and camp. The river is great for fishing and some swimming. Lots of shade from old pecan trees and soft grass for comfortable tent placement." Several campgrounds provide security gates and regular maintenance, though some reviews note challenges with electrical reliability and limited space at certain facilities.

      Palmetto State Park Campground

      Not impressed

Wasn't impressed with this campground after pulling in my 32' RV. There's nowhere to park with my F-250 super duty. I went to take a shower. There was only one shower the other one was broken and it didn't have any hot water. A sign on the door said no hot water. Had to take a freezing cold one. Come on Texas. You can't afford a plumber and a hot water heater?

      Lots of new updates

Large sites, plenty of space between campsites. They have two new sets of washers and dryers. Roads have been paved. Cabins are being upgraded. They have added sewer hookups. And a disk golf course.

      Palmetto State Park Campground

Great for a quick night out

We scheduled a single-night trip in late November to work the bugs out a new camping trailer. We stayed in campsite 24 which backs up to the little lake. It has running water but not electricity.

They had just finished renovating the showers on this side of the park. Instead of a shared bathroom each for men and women there are two "family" bathrooms with door locks. It's nicer overall, but you end up waiting more than you used to.

Like nearly all the state parks, this one is well-maintained. The camp host was quick to stop by and introduce himself as we were setting up camp.

Even in November the county in which Palmetto SP in was still under a burn ban. We were allowed to use a propane fire pit though.

For history buffs, this park is one of the CCC-built parks in Texas.

All the trails are relatively flat. Other campers were nice. You're 10 minutes away from a Buccee's.

      Green Dickson Park

Nicely maintained city park with camping facilities

Went to Shiner, TX to visit the brewery. Quaint little town with a very nice park. RV sites have electric and water for a fair daily price.

      Patriot RV Park

      Electrical issues

The RV Park worked ok for us and what we did in this location. We did see a fluctuation in the electrical power. We had a fan setup in the living room and would change speeds all by itself from almost nothing running to running full speed. Several times per minute.

      Independence City Park

      Not for big rigs

There were 4 of us 40’ RVs. Two of us lost covers off of roof top units. There are trees every where that need trimmed before motorhome can go in without damage.

Karankawa Camping Area — Goliad State Park

      Lots of history

This park was so great. There was all kinds of history there that you can see for very low prices and also for free. In the town of Goliad at their courthouse to have a famous hanging tree that was used to hang people still standing.. About 3 miles down the road is Presidio La Bahia. Built by the Spanish army in the mid 1700s. Home of the Goliad massacre. If you enjoy history, you're really gonna love Goliad State park.

      Palmetto State Park Campground

      Nice and clean

Nice and clean state park. I'm a ham radio operator and this park is one of the parks that gets activated for parks on the air. I've been doing a couple times and have activated it one time.

Budget-friendly options: Victoria City RV Park offers economical full-hookup sites at $12 per night. A camper noted, "Full hookups for $12 a day is definitely not a bad price at all. No bathrooms, no shade. Still worth the price though."

Hookup reliability: Utility connections vary between parks.
