Brackenridge Recreation Complex

Families and groups gather at this established campground within Brackenridge Park, where the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority maintains year-round operations. Sites feature full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections, plus access to restrooms with showers and a dump station. The facility operates more like a community park with camping than a remote outdoor experience.

Level, paved sites accommodate RVs, with pull-through options available alongside back-in spots shaded by live oak trees. Water access draws many visitors, and deer frequently graze through the camping areas. A 12-mile equestrian trail welcomes both horses and bicycles, while additional flat trails wind around the park and water features. The grounds include a disc golf course, boat launch, swimming area, dog park, and playground.

Weekend visits tend to fill completely with families hosting reunions and celebrations. Amy C. notes waking "to a herd of deer grazing in our back yard" from her waterfront site. Music and campfires are common as groups utilize the space for gatherings. WiFi reaches throughout the campground, and pets are welcome with restrictions on motorized scooters and hoverboards.

For a quieter alternative, Texana Park & Campground sits less than a mile northwest.

A Full Recreation Area with camping

A minimum of water and electric at every site (which we don’t need) The feel is more community park with camping. There is a 12 mile equestrian trail which bikes are allowed to ride on. Other flat trails are around the park and water. It is completely full this Saturday and there are lots of families, music and fires burning. I do not consider this to be a serene wilderness/wildlife area but a Camping area full of activities. Looks like a great place for a family reunion or wedding. Complete with frisbee golf, boating, swimming, dog park, playground and more. The grounds are very well kept.

Great stopover on Lake Texana

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed at Brackenridge. Sites are level. Asphalt. Nice views of the lake. We stayed in the pull through sites (124 and 125) but the other lots are shaded by beautiful live oaks. No motorized scooters/hoverboards allowed.

Awesome Find!!

My mother, sister & myself came across this little jewel and could not be happier. Our spot was directly on the water which is very calming, had the pleasure of gazing at the sunset over the water. Also awoke to a herd of deer grazing in our back yard. Kim @ the office was very professional & prompt in getting us set up!
