Close to it all, yet far enough away

This CG was one of the first we used in Colorado and still a great go-to as it is large enough that you can often find a spot with less planning than some of the more popular sites, but it is near many attractions and the CG itself is nice.  All spots are nicely spaced apart, it is fairly wooded, a creek runs along the backside and it is near Woodland Park, Manitou Springs and the Pikes Peak wilderness.   The hosts at this CG are wonderful and take pride in their area.. Spots are immaculate and vault toilets are clean… Sites have fire-pits and picnic table and they offer back-in and pull-though spots and most sites we saw were fairly level.  Trash and water spigots are equally dispersed through the CG.

Great campground!

Great level campground. Water and restrooms well distributed. Roomy spaces. Close to town with small grocery.

Nice, clean campground. Lots of traffic.

Nice campground with lots of families, generators and kids. Spaces are large and spaced out. Bathrooms were very clean and friendly hosts. The campground is very close to a busy road and fenced off from the surrounding land areas. Rained and hailed for 5 straight hours, lots of thunder and lightning - I was there mid-June. Nice cool temps.

Very nice!

South Meadows was a great! My husband and I camped there for the first time last weekend. Especially for being within an hour of the city, it was beautiful and serene. The bathrooms were very clean. We enjoyed walking to Manitou Lake (about 1.75 miles away) for a picnic lunch. The only thing was that our site was pretty exposed. We were in one of the middle sites, which do not offer much privacy because of lack of trees and proximity to neighbors. If I go again, I will be sure to book a site on the outside of the loop to avoid this.

Basic campground with bathrooms.

This was a very basic campground. A place to park a table and a fire ring. The bathrooms were cleaned and stocked. There was also a dumpster available for use.

This is a nice, well maintained campground close to a lot of activities. You can visit nearby Manitou Lake and there are lots of trails in this area. The sites are clean and there are lots of trees. I really enjoyed camping here.
