Free and sitting along the Owyhee River on BLM land outside Adrian, this dispersed site draws a mix of anglers, road-trippers, and van campers looking for an overnight stop with river access and no fee. The turnoff from the highway is easy to miss, marked by a small sign positioned past the actual entrance, so drivers heading north should watch carefully. Once in, a 34-foot fifth wheel has made it through, though the ground slopes consistently toward the river from the mesa and leveling can take effort.
Shade is limited and midday sun between roughly 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. hits hard in warmer months. Bugs can be significant in summer. Fire rings and tables line the river side of the site, and a short trail leads to the water where fish are regularly spotted. Cell coverage is minimal regardless of carrier, with usable signal only on higher ground nearby. Snively Hot Springs is within walking distance, and Owyhee River BLM Dispersed near Snively Hot Springs provides another option along the same stretch of river.
Trash left by previous visitors is a recurring issue noted across multiple reviews, and bullet casings have been found at some sites. Noise from the hot springs area can carry into camp on busy nights. Joseph notes that the "ground all slopes towards the river from the mesa," a useful detail for anyone setting up a tent or leveling a rig. Pit toilets are on-site but locked during winter, and water is shut off in the off-season. Campers wanting a more developed setup might consider Owyhee River - Below Dam - Owyhee Dam Park a few miles to the southwest.
