Very relaxing spot on Lake Bob Sandlin. Having the Marina across the street was very convenient for those last minute forgotten items. Campsite has bathrooms/showers/laundry facilities, however they could use some work. Only downfalls in my opinion is being so close to the road and the WiFi is spotty.
The campground is tucked away in a woodsy area of Lake Texoma, our waterfront spot had a beautiful view & the sound of the fish jumping all around with the birds was quite serene! The one thing I didn’t care for was the levelness of our spot, it was a little touch & go with my mother & her walker. The only other thing I found strange was the number of mobile homes in the campground, but hey who can blame them!!
Check-in went smoothly and when we asked if we could make some copies for one of our games to keep score on, Theresa was more than accommodating! Very clean park. Danielle showed us to our spot and was very helpful answering questions we had.
We were desperately looking for an overnight campsite since the location we had reserved did not suite the needs of my disabled mother as they indicated online & over the phone. We were turned away @ several locations due to no availability when we ran across Route 66 RV Ranch. Tom is amazing & very down to earth, he will go above and beyond to help you with your needs. He put us in a spot directly across from the restrooms/showers (very clean/large/nice) to be accessible to my mother. Most is the sites have partial to full shade which helps on those hot days! There’s even a grassy area for the fur babies & kiddos to run & play, includes a small play set for the kiddos. The only negative I have for the campground is the road noise, which is out of their control. If your in the area you need to give this place a try!
I made reservations for this campground 2 weeks in advance for an overnight layover. At the time of the reservation I advised Angelica that my mother was on a walker, not able to move around very well @ which time she advised no “pre-reservations of spots” can be implemented, all spots are assigned @ time of check-in. We get here to check in & when I asked if we could be placed close to the front for my mom to get close to showers I was told there was nothing that could be done, they were full for the weekend (we checked in on Thursday) and we’re not given any option of any alternative solutions to the situation, just simply told “you don’t understand the system assigns the campsites & there’s nothing they can do”. Before hooking up my sister flagged Angelica down & asked her about moving @ which time she replied we could go ask one of the campers that came in behind us that was a few spots closer to the office if they’d be willing to switch spots. After we were completely hooked up & Abigail went back to the office to let the manager know we were less than happy, the Mgr did call to offer us a closer site that was a back-in site that we were more than welcome to move to. TOO LITTLE TOO LATE! I definitely will not stay here again nor will I recommend this campground to anyone!
Found this quiet, peaceful, serene little gem tucked away just 4 miles from Fredericksburg. It is a very relaxing atmosphere. We were met by the friendliest staff member, Stacy upon our arrival. She went above & beyond to make sure our stay was perfect…including setting up the handicap bath/shower facilities for my mom! They’re in the process of making some changes & in my opinion it is for the better!
Really enjoying our stay @ Gulf Waters, the staff is outstanding & all the amenities are top notch. This place will not disappoint!!
My mother, sister & myself came across this little jewel and could not be happier. Our spot was directly on the water which is very calming, had the pleasure of gazing at the sunset over the water. Also awoke to a herd of deer grazing in our back yard. Kim @ the office was very professional & prompt in getting us set up!
