County-managed South Park - Hamlin allows campfires and welcomes pets, with firewood available for purchase and alcohol permitted on-site. The campground offers both drive-in and walk-in access options for different camping preferences. However, GPS navigation may present challenges, as one recent visitor reported being directed to a locked gate with an overgrown, apparently abandoned area beyond it. Campers should verify current access routes and site conditions before arrival, particularly when relying on GPS directions to reach this Stamford-area location.
