Mel's Place Cabin operates as a private campground in Terlingua, Texas, with drive-in access and sites ranging from $20 to $158 per night. The facility provides essential amenities including drinking water, restroom facilities with showers, and picnic tables for each site. Campfires are permitted, and firewood is available for purchase on-site.
Cell service reaches the property, and trash collection is provided. Reservations can be made in advance. The campground sits less than a mile from Willow Creek Camping Company and other area camping options. Book ahead during peak desert season from October through April when temperatures moderate.

Mel's Place is private, quiet, feels remote yet only a mile or so to all the amenities you may need.
With some of the darkest skies in the country, the stargazing here is top notch. Maybe you will see the Milky Way for the first time.

Directions
From hwy 118, turn east onto Indian head rd. This is a dirt rd that may be bumpy, uneven or muddy at times. High clearance is recommended. Continue 1 mile. Turn left at the sign for Mels Place. Continue half a mile (through the big dry creek bed), stay right. Go 400 ft and turn right at the CAMP sign. See property map and go to your reserved site. Continue straight if going to the CABIN. The rd dead ends at the cabin. Enjoy!
