Close quarters, but nice campground

Awsome

Clean, spacious and owner is awsome.

Learning to be retired

We retired and our first stay has been at Port A RV resort. Very friendly staff and guests. We already feel as though we have been doing this for a long time. Lots of neighbor activities and pet friendly too. 2 pools, a hot tub, several gathering spots, laundry, palm trees… just feels like home.

This is a lovely ran RV resort.

The manager is very friendly. They have laundry. They provide quarters for purchase. They have a fishing dock off the campground. A pool. And a dog park.

Nice park

The sites were very large, the lake is beautiful and it’s about 40 miles to the ocean.

Enjoyable with friendly host and campers. Many full timers.

We stayed overnight while traveling. It was pretty quiet even though near 1/4 mile, the highway. Good cable tv. There are a lot of trees so satellite reception would likely be difficult. We didn’t use the Wi-Fi. The pads are gravel but relatively level. They are easily accessed. We would definitely stop here again when passing through.

Walking distance to water

Great campground close to the drive on beach. No sewer hookups, great bathrooms, and friendly knowledgeable staff.

Great beach combing

The tent sites are grassy, which was very nice and the bathrooms were nice compared to what you'd find at a typical beach side facility that is also open to the public paying for its use. Note on the weekends, the bathrooms can get messy due to all the extra traffic. The rest of the time the bathrooms were clean. We paid for a $10 seven day pass into Padre National Seashore and went to that beach most of the time. It was much cleaner than IB Magee Beach.

A couple suggestions for tent camping: 1) Pack light to stay cool. It is fairly warm throughout the summer. 2) Keep the rain flap on tent. It was pretty windy the first couple nights. 3) Bring earplugs to sleep in case it is windy.

Nearby attractions include Port Aransas Beach (1.2 miles), Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center (1.3 miles), and Mustang Island State Park (1.6 miles).

Beach Location

Nice sites by the beach. Tables could use some work but the sites are level and functional. County park close to the pier with a place to eat and drink.

Beautiful Gulfview Park

Enjoyed a night here before visiting USS Lexington and Port Aransas. My site was right on the gulf and the view was great. Very friendly office staff. Level site with full hookups. I recommend and will return.
