We booked this campground last minute on a trip and being the last stop it was great to have a quite area. We were in site 12 which was a group site but it was all the had. We were tent camping and had plenty of flat area for our tent and we were far enough away from neighbors that it was quite.…
We loved fishing and hiking throughout the park but our kids loved the double bunks in our cabin. The campsite was great, right off the water and a well placed fire pit. We will definitely be back.

The park was great, very clean and the park rangers were very helpful.
The bathrooms weren’t the best but they were clean and had showers with hot water. There were only 3 shower stalls in the bathroom near us and they were very busy in the evening. They were completely empty at 7am though.

Kayak launch isn’t easy to get to but the have provided a slide for yaks to get from the parking area to/from the launch. Once you’re there though its like you’re transported somewhere else and you weave your way through a winding canal to reach the lake (very cool). We all enjoyed it! Yaked over…
Gorgeous waterfront sites with excellent fishing. Fun trails! Highly recommended

The cheapest Texas State Park for electric or electric/water campsites at only 14/night!
Spaces are spread out and loads and loads of pull through sites if that's your thing.
Bathrooms aren't great but if it isn't busy they are fine. Trails are beautiful and if you piece them together can be…

4.5 total miles of trails and none of it difficult. You can't take a baby stroller but obey because of a few branches, it's all easy hiking.
One bathroom but all the lits are spacious and secluded.
The lake is great. Beautiful swimming area and playground. We were here 7 days and only left…

Just got back from a weekend tent camping here. Stunning views and very clean camp grounds! Even in the winter, there's lots of people camping here yet it's still VERY quiet and relaxing. Would recommend this site any time of year.

First time to this park and we liked it. It is very thickly wooded which makes even the smallest sites private. We stayed on site 08 which on the map looks like it’s on the water but the brush is dense so there is no water view. Sites 10-13 are nice waterfront sites. We came here for fall colors…

We, unfortunately, only got to spend one night here on our way through the area but enjoyed some great stargazing due to the park being quite dark.
We appreciated electric and water being at the campsite, especially for only $14 per night.
The only thing negative we noticed during our very short…
we camped at site 38 hoping for privacy but there were at least 2 campsites in plain sight (though we are probably a bit pickier than most). Trails were really nice despite it having rained the day and night before our hikes. Beautiful to see such towering trees. Saw some deer tracks too! Our dog…
Nice and clean park. Quiet but only half full. Only down side is the limited amount of full hookups and then only 1 dump station. All the trail signs are new and easy to find. Camp hosts definitely do there job on checking on the park and ensuring things are taken care of. Sites are pretty good…
Was very hot when we went. There was no shade even with our awnings and canopies up! Got in the water to cool off and water was even hotter. Nice campground, not impressed with the bath house. Not saying I wont return but not anytime soon.
This was a quick stopover on my way to another campground and I wish I could have stayed longer. Sites were private, lake view was great. Bathrooms were clean and heated. Raccoon did peek its head into my camper... ahhh!
Very peaceful and cozy camping experience. The bathroom is a bit out-dated.
