A nice place to stay in Amarillo

This is a nice RV Resort. It’s clean, well maintained, has friendly staff, a nice park area with water features, an indoor pool, playground, dog walk, and a cute shop with lots of gifts to buy. I would definitely stay there again!

Free, Undeveloped, Next to water

This is my type of campground! It has a Boat Ramp and trash cans. No grills, no picnic tables, some home made fire rings. So if you need hook ups just go to the next campgrounds (most free). If you are equipped to Boondocking then come to this one! You’ll be parking next to the lake, don’t forget to bring your kayak 😉. The dump station is nearby and has potable water (free) and the next campground has bathrooms and hot showers Freeeee! Waking up next to water is priceless!

Urban Environment

We stayed for one night so we could visit Palo Duro State Park. If you don’t mind street noise and a hard scrabble environment, this is an OK one night stop. The staff is helpful, the access is easy, full hook ups at a good price, and there is a nice park across the street when you need to see something green. The Wonderland amusement park is next to the park and open on weekends. I am assuming that some of the amusement park workers live in the trailer park. There are quite a few “permanent” residents who were friendly enough but it felt like camping in an inner city neighborhood. The actual park itself was quiet, but the street noise was constant. If you are used to that you can sleep.

Good stop for a night

Free camping. arrived on a Sunday and had a large pick of sites. We got a bluffside lake view site. Very pretty! Our site had no hookups, get water at the dump station on tour way in. Sites were a little trashy. We were able to do a short, steep, rocky scramble down to a little beach.

Good prairie to camp

Good place to camp, but usually has huge group of people, if you are not concerned with noise. It is a good place.
