Beautiful state park with a golf course, swimming pool and a creek that runs through it.
Our family favorite, shaded campsites with a small ox bowl lake for fishing.
First time at Iron Horse RV resort, won't be our last! The grounds are clean and the spaces are wide. They have a beautiful pavilion and a lazy river. Saturday night (for the Labor Day weekend) they brought in a band - they were wonderful. There is a cute boutique on site with adorable clothes,…
I already wrote a review of the park and now that we have walked around it's even better than I thought!! They have chickens, a pink trailer that serves coffee and breakfast tacos on Saturday's and cute metal art all over the park.

It's right off I-10 perfect location for us traveling south. The store has a little but if everything! You must go in to see it for yourself!
Well maintained and plenty of trails around the lake. Enjoyed two night here. Site 108
This was our first time here at lake Somerville birch creek. It was a great one. We stayed in old hickory loop. Lots of trees and plenty of shade. Short trip from Houston so we will definitely be going back!

My first time there. I witnessed a young boy being pulled out by another young boy for drowning. Didn’t want my kids to see what was happening so I left. Would definitely camp there though.
Very friendly staff. They guide you to your campsite and help you back in.
Tubes to rent. Awesome huge trees in a lot of the park. Nice group shelter for rent.
Right on the river, great floating.
Stayed here one night- Memorial Day Evening- as we were making our way thru Texas. Liz at check-in was super friendly and helpful. We stayed on site D4. FHU. Level. WiFi was the best yet! No issues with this campsite. Trees stringed with lights for nice ambience. Road traffic noise did not bother…
The park is nice , access to river to relax and cool off. 80 percent of the park is residents the only spots available for weekends is in direct sun. If you want a fire you need to rent a fire ring and buy the wood from them. The staff was not real friendly. There’re was only one young lady there…
Efforts have been made to make the restroom and shower handicap accessible. The lip going into the women’s bathroom is doable I believe for anybody, but coming out the lip is pretty high around 2 inches to 2 1/2 inches. They have a low grade step in shower with grab bars and a pull down shower…
This is a beautiful and huge camp ground with lots of nature to admire. The camp sites are spacious and feel very private, yet you don't feel alone with other campers nearby you. We had a stunning full hook up camp site with a climbable tree and took a hike to the waterfalls! There's lots of hiking…
This park is a great stop if you are on your way from Houston to Austin. It's actually connected to Bastrop State Park by an 11 mile road that is mostly used for cycling. And that's exactly what we did! There was very little road traffic and the views were great! There are also several scenic…
