South Central Texas is a prime area of the state to explore. Known far and wide as the Hill Country, it is so named for its rolling hills and woodlands. Famous for its excellent wineries, historic small towns and natural beauty, the Hill Country also boasts a unique offering for campers known as Enchanted Rock State Park. 


Enchanted Rock is a large pink granite dome that rises 425 feet above the surrounding terrain and is the largest granite monadock in the United States. Indians, Spaniards and early settlers all had stories of magical, spiritual or unexplained happenings around the rock which gave the feature its name. These days, one of the most intriguing sights is at night, after a rain. The wet dome seems to glitter in the moonlight and while regarded as a simple play of light on the granite, the effect adds to both the mystery and enchantment of the area. 


Another intriguing site in the Hill Country is Jacob’s Well, a short 78 miles southeast from Enchanted Rock State Park. Fed by a natural artesian spring, Jacob’s Well consists of a large pool connected to a vast underground cavern system that sprawls more than 4300 feet. The spring is connected to the Trinity Aquifer and emits thousands of gallons of water each day where visitors can enjoy the cool 68 degree water. Jacob’s Well is a popular and welcome retreat from the famous Texas heat!

Welcome to Harmon Creek Marina and RV Resort!

We are a small family-operated Marina and RV/Camping Resort, with many services to offer including RV spaces with 30/50amp hookups, rental cabins, tent sites, shower and restroom access, a swimming pool, children's playground, and of course the beautiful location on Harmon Creek for all our fishermen/women.

Day passes are available for bank fishing and pool access. We also have a fish cleaning table and live bait available in our bait and tackle shop.

Harmon Creek RV Park & Marina

We are primarily a Permaculture learning lab and living center on 55 acres of land in the Sam Houston Forest in Evergreen, Texas. Camping fees help us meet new people and pay our expense and improvement costs. We try to keep our camping sites in tree stands to keep the look and feel of pure nature as much as possible. There is currently 5 sites. We are slowly developing new primitive sites. There is a pond on the property. The hike to the pond is a fairly easy trail. There are some open areas for riding your bikes and ATVs. There are many brushy areas for exploring. If you make it to the back of the property(bring your compass), there is a shallow creek year around. Bring your walking sticks, bikes, ATVs, fishing poles and bait, life jackets, canoe, kayak, raft, paddles. Off-grid primitive camping is available year around. Costs are$20 per night with your own off-grid camping equipment and $80 per night to rent our equipment. Tent setup is on the forest floor. We grow and regenerate the soil using organic principles. Please only apply bug spray at your campsite). City water is available to fill RV water tanks and containers near the Host shed. Hot water is available in your container upon request. There is an open outdoor restroom and shower for public use available at the back of the shed. We suggest a mosquito net for outdoor open sleeping. We suggest the following items be brought to make your experience more enjoyable: shower shoes, long sleeves, long pants, a hat, extra socks and close-toed shoes(rubber boots are nice), a rain coat, a compass, and walking sticks. In WINTER months we suggest clean loose fitting night time only socks, warm pajamas, and extra top sheet and blanket, a small foot blanket for inside your bedding, rubber boots, a warm hat and scarf and warm gloves. We will provide a portable potty for every 3 people and a fire ring. At the end of your stay, we will pickup any bagged and tied trash you leave and properly dispose of your human waste. A charcoal grill is available for use at no charge upon request on a first come first serve basis. Activities included as part of your camping fees include a group evening farm tour and/or trip to the pond upon request, access to pond activities, fishing without a license, hiking and exploring the property, bike rides on trails on your bikes. Youth archery upon request. As we get our tree guilds setup, any available fresh produce will be available for you to pick and eat during your camping stay. You can earn credits towards your stay by scheduling to volunteer 1 hour on Fridays or Saturdays. $10 per site credit each hour of group volunteer help. Reserve your volunteer work times for Saturdays between 8 am to 1 pm. No cash value for credits not redeemed. Credit is given through your registration site at the end of your stay. ## Overview

Double Lake Recreation Area was built in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and offers a little of everything, including camping, fishing, swimming, picnicking, hiking and simply relaxing in nature. A variety of tent, RV and group campsites are available.

## Recreation

Double Lake is stocked with bass, bream and catfish. There are three fishing piers and a limited access boat ramp with parking nearby for trailers. Only boats with small electric motors are allowed. Boat and canoe rentals are available seasonally.   
  
A 5-mile hiking trail leads to Big Creek Scenic Area, and there is access to part of the 128-mile Lone Star Hiking Trail. A 20-mile mountain bike trail meanders around the lake.   
  
Swimmers can relax on a sandy beach after taking a cool plunge.

## Facilities

Double Lake Recreation Area facilities includes family camping units, group camping, picnicking units, a picnic shelter, beach with swimming area and a concession stand with bathhouse.

## Natural Features

The area has rolling hills forested with hardwood and pines. The campground is surrounded by the 23-acre Double Lake.   
  
Temperatures are moderate to cool from September through May, and hot and humid from June to August. Winters are cool and wet.
