Midpoint Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting directly off I-40 at the geographic midpoint of Route 66, Midpoint Campground in Adrian, Texas runs $10 to $25 per night with full hookup sites available for RVs. Payment is self-serve when the office is closed, with an envelope drop at the door. Reservations are available, though at least one reviewer arrived around midnight and found all RV spots taken, so calling ahead makes sense during busy travel seasons.

The layout is straightforward. As Kimberly M. puts it, it's "pretty much a gravel lot with electric and water hookups," with tent sites also on hand. Campers with water hookups should be aware that multiple sites have reported leaking connections significant enough to flood a site if left running, so filling a freshwater tank and disconnecting is the practical workaround. The bathroom is single-occupancy with a code required for entry, and reviewers note it has been kept clean. On-site laundry includes two washers and two dryers.

Noise from I-40 traffic is audible throughout the site, which is worth factoring in for light sleepers. Three full-time residents live on the property. The Route 66 midpoint marker in Adrian is the main local draw, making this a functional overnight stop for travelers working their way along the historic highway. Walnut RV Park to the east and Pilot Travel Center, Vega are nearby alternatives for campers who want a different setup along the same corridor.

A basic overnight stop offering good value at $25/night with clean facilities and hot showers. Traffic noise from I-40 and water connection issues were noted concerns, but most found it adequate for short stays.

Bad water leak

We paid $25 a night. We paid by slipping an envelope into the doors mail slot. We were the only campers besides the camp host whom we did not meet. Very small town with the midpoint of Route 66 being the main attraction. The water leaked so bad at multiple sites that your site would be flooded of you kept it on and attached to your rig. We just kept refilling our freshwater tank.

Will do for an overnight stop

Nothing to get excited about. Pretty much a gravel lot with electric and water hookups. Price was good. $25 for a night. Bathroom was clean. Laundry machines available. Traffic on I-40 was noisy. Place was a little sketchy but it was safe. 3 full time residents on lot. It worked for a one night stop over.

Perfect Night Stop

Exactly what we needed for the night. Pull in spots right off of Rout 66. Two washers and two dryers. One toilet and shower. The water got hot which was nice. Owner was attentive. Great place to pull off and get some rest to continue your adventure in the morning.

Last minute-no reservations

All RV spots were full when we found this on the roadside while passing thru around midnight. Has electric and water or tent camping sights. We used the dry sight for our tear drop. Easy on and off I-40. Bathrooms needed a code. The office was obviously closed because of the time of night we pulled in but we were able to pay for our sight by dropping the envelope at the office. Plan on stay there again on our way back home.
