Lovely, Lovely, lovely little campground

Love this place. It has so many hidden treasures. Ponds, trails, cabins, swings, pool tables, a small stage for performances…. But more than that, an outstanding staff that keeps it all running smoothly.

Nice, quiet place

The location is beautiful and quiet. A lot of the facilities are closed due to COVID but we enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing amenities

The main focus of the resort is the cabins, so the tent camping area is nice and quiet. Clean bathrooms, a nice pool area and hot showers were available to the tent areas. Now if the drought could fill the two ponds, this would be a really great getaway.

RV Camping

Awesome area in the Hill Country. Love the full hookup including sewer. They have everything there. Unfortunally we were there when there was a biker convention. Not very quiet, but is beautiful there.

Great Biker Resort

2019 Ok, first the good. Large RV spots with full hookups. You won’t feel crowded when your parked beside your neighbor. The park has an awesome walking trail. If you want a good workout walk up to the Texas flag observation point. Folks mostly use the lower trail which is about half a mile trek. Up at the Flag you’ll see a beautiful scenic shot of the valley. The Wi-Fi was good at spot where we stayed, but there’s no phone service in the entire park. I understand that RVC Inc. bought the park a couple years ago. I noticed a few things already going downhill. for instance the Hot tub next to the pool is heated but no jets are working. I hope RVC Inc spends the money to fix this, otherwise it’s just a bathtub. They have a garden hose dribbling water into the hot tub 24/7. The Pool is not heated, so useless for winter Texans. but I’ll bet it’s just great in the summertime. See pics) Many of the lights on top of the electric posts were not working, so it’s dark out when you take your dog for that last walk before bedtime. They have a great Office/Store and a restaurant (closed during winter months) They have a pool and shuffleboard tables and outdoor dining tables. Great Biker stop to cool down with a cold one. RVC inc does require a background check ($40) for each person planning on an extended stay. We did a month

Glamping!

Sometimes it is nice to stay in cabins instead of a tent or RV. Normally when my family and I go we will stay in a tent or take our RV, depending on how long we are going to stay. These cabins are super cute, and have great names for them. One of them is named " The George Straight." I love little special touches like this. There is a swimming pool on site which was nice to keep us cool in the Texas summer heat. Although the pool was pretty busy with kids! We didn't mind this since the lake was only a few hundred yards away. In the morning we had coffee at the small table in the cabin and could see the beautiful lake through the window. Also, seeing the white tail deer walking around the campground was incredible, too. Nothing like being able to see wildlife like this! Lots of chipmunks/squirrels as well that are definitely used to humans being around. There are shaded areas with picnic tables on site as well as grills for BBQ. They also have a café on site that serves meals during the weekends. We enjoyed having this as an option, although we brought plenty of food for our cabin to munch on. We did some hiking nearby which was a lot of fun, and had views of the entire lake. We also played in the lake, BBQ and enjoyed some people watching. Overall, we look forward to the next time we can come again!
