Great place

I tent camped for several days here. The staff are helpful, bathrooms are super clean with soap, decent water pressure and everything is so well kept. I was thoroughly impressed and will be back to try the other sites. I stayed at turtle falls. It was so peaceful listening to the water all night.

Picturesque & quiet.

We loved this campground. Lots of places to walk & saw wildlife every day. Restrooms were clean & very nice. The washers are bigger than a lot of RV parks too.  The staff is very friendly & accommodating. We extended our stay 3 times!  If you're in the Texas hill country, this is definitely the place to stay.

Nice & quiet - pretty too

Breaking in our new TAB 400 and wanted to stay somewhat local first time out. This campground is primarily RV spots- full hookups and some tent and cabin areas along the Guadalupe. Pull through a and back ins. Very quiet and nice location just outside of town (Kerrville, TX- recommend the Rails Cafe if you get tired of camp cookin’)

Not much privacy between the spots so expect conversations with friendly and like-minded neighbors. Bath- showers - laundry available tho it’s a bit of a walk to get to from just sites. Kayak - paddle board rentals available too.

Relaxing Little Getaway

My husband and I visited By The River Campground at the end of September and really enjoyed it. We brought along our 2 dogs and had a nice little getaway. There was plenty of space to walk the dogs and the campground was quiet and clean. We stayed in a premium riverfront space (17). The only thing I didn’t love is that there was only 1 dumpster and we had to walk all the way down there every time we cleaned up after one of the dogs; more trashcans would have been great. Other than that one thing, we definitely enjoyed our time and would definitely Italy visit again.

Great weekend getaway

This is my 4th time here. I love this camp site. But we can never get the WiFi to work witch isn’t a bad thing since we come to unplug. Overall it’s quiet and beautiful.

Simple, friendly, gorgeous

This was our very first trip out so this is from a newbie perspective: Easy to get into and out of and our site was right on the end of the “do not drive” section so the kids had a HUGE yard area to play in which was awesome.

We arrived 4 hours later than planned ... right at dark 🤦🏻‍♀️ but we’re still able to get hooked up with minimal struggle.

The river/tributary was STUNNING and an easy walk across the bridge to the deeper side for fishing but the nearest portion was ideal for feeding ducks and such.

If you go, PLEASE make sure to go to Sculpture Prayer Garden in Kerrville (https://thecomingkingfoundation.org/).

Lost maples State Park is a bit of a drive but the drive itself is stunning, as is the park. Totally worth it. Pack a lunch and eat at the park ... gorgeous.

Some full time residents at this park it appeared but they were very kind and tolerant of us and our Mobile circus. 🥴

Quiet lovely park

We really enjoy coming to this park. They have great waterfront sites for our 30RB airstream and lots of hiking areas for dogs along the Guadalupe River. Owners are great and the clientele always seem friendly.

We were able to stay a week at this park and really enjoyed it. Right on the river and perfect for peaceful early morning walks. Nothing to complain about here and will definitely return!

Tent camping right on the water

We arrived after hours and without reservations on a Thursday evening in early October. We were able to secure a spot through the bartender at Wild Ass Hey Barn, which is on site and the location of the bathroom/showers. We were the only tent campers and were told to just set up on the grass by the river. Locals staying in RVs in the main area helped us find our way. It was a fantastic setting right next to the river. The regular tent sites are lined up along the river and had water. They were pretty close to each other, but right on the water in a tent only area. RV sites are farther inland and separate from the tent sites. Bathroom was basic, but clean.

Beautiful setting!

We stayed at By the River for a week while we explored the Hill Country. While it was a bit out of the way for many of our explorations we were really happy with the setting. We had a site that backed up to the river. The view as well as the sound of the birds made it almost idyllic.  We loved watching all the turtles on the branches in the water just below us.  We also enjoyed walking through the property, which encompasses a lot of land with water all around.

The park has also fostered a friendly community. Fellow campers greeted us, shared their tips for exploring the area, and we were even invited to a potluck in the community room.  It was a warm and welcoming place.

Beautiful property!

My husband and I stayed here over labour day weekend and we really enjoyed the place. Our site was a premium waterfront (worth every penny), the view was lovely, we had coffee and watched the ducks every morning. The campground was packed of course, and there sites are fairly close, but the fact that they haven't developed every inch of this property is what makes it great! Lots of lovely giant cypress trees and lots of places to walk our dogs and enjoy the scenery and the river. The other added bonus was the restaurant/bar just at the entrance, great live music and good burgers all within walking distance to our trailer!! We would definitely stay here again!

Awesome

It is August in Texas, very hot, we have to have shade and water to camp. This has it all. Our site had lovely cottonwood trees and right on the small branch of the river. Walk across small rapids and crystal clear water to another side of the park with access to the main river for canoeing, kayaking, you name it.
There are several small walking trails. Three separate sections... rv full service, rv water/elec., tents. All lovely. Don’t like river water... check out the pool ❤️. Also lots of birds! All the sights and sounds of Texas camping. We watched the ducks fly in every evening, along with a lovely blue heron. Turtles have their own little island. We watched the bats swarm the evening sky eating their fill. Then we were visited by lightning bugs. The frogs will sing to you all night. Suggest a prime spot... slightly more but larger and lots of room to spread out! Lovely people, very attentive, very very clean! We will return!
