Davis Mountain RV Park, near Fort Davis, Texas, is a straightforward spot for those looking to park their RVs or pitch a tent. It’s a no-frills location that offers basic amenities like electric hookups and drinking water, but don’t expect much in the way of extras.

The park is situated right off a busy highway, which means you’ll hear the sounds of traffic more than the rustling of leaves. Some visitors have pointed out that the area is quite dusty and lacks features like picnic tables, making it less than ideal for leisurely outdoor meals. However, if you’re just passing through and need a place to rest, it could serve its purpose.

For those interested in exploring, you’re not far from attractions like the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center and Botanical Gardens, as well as Davis Mountains State Park. These spots offer a chance to stretch your legs and take in some beautiful Texas scenery. Just be prepared for the rugged terrain and keep an eye out for those pesky goatheads if you’re bringing your furry friends along.

While the park may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it does provide a place to park your rig and get some rest before heading out on your next adventure. Just remember to manage your expectations and plan accordingly!

Not even a picnic table to sit at.

The guy that owns the place is not a nice guy and the place is very noisy, dusty and absolutely nothing at all here. Not even a picnic table to sit at.

Worst rv park!

Just a dirt parking lot on the side of a busy and noisy highway. Worst rv park I ever stayed at.

Didn't satisfied!

The owner is a crabby old guy. If I had this rv park that’s nothing more than a pile of sand on the side of the road, I’d probably be crabby too.

would not go back again!

This rv park doesn’t even have a picnic table. It sits 10 feet from the highway where the speed limit is 70. Noisy, nothing here but sand. I would not go back again.

Perfect spot!

We stopped for three nights before heading to big bend national park and it was great! The host gave us plenty of pamphlets for things to do in the area along with some tasty local pecans. Make sure to check out the Chihuahuan nature and botanical garden and the Davis mountain state park.

Perfect Location

My family and I traveled to explore the Davis Mountains and this was the perfect spot! Very well maintained, FULL hook ups, nice views and so close to tons of trails and scenery. We even saw deer a few nights wandering through.

Minutes to cute restaurants in Fort Davis, and a grocery store.

No restrooms or showers, but the owners have plans for them.

Reservations are call in only but Pam and Buster are very responsive. When you arrive you choose your spot and call them and then they text the WiFi password too. (T-Mobile call and their Wi-Fi was superb) AND only $25/ night! Can’t beat that...I would have paid much more for the spot and the extraordinary hospitality!

Brand new RV Park

Stayed here for 5 nights on our way from Big Bend NP to Carlsbad Caverns.  If you are looking for fancy this is not the place.  It is a work in progress.  But all the sites are level, pull thru with both 30 and 50 amp service.  It is centrally located for all the attractions in the area particularly Fort Davis National Historic Site and McDonald Observatory.  They have plans to add bathrooms and a laundry facility.  The connections are all new and water pressure is excellent.  Cell service is good - TMobile 3 bars 10 down/6 up, Verizon 4 bars 10 down/19 up.  Verizon tower is within site of the RV park.  They do have wifi available but we did not use it.  At only $20 a night for full hookups while they are new you can't beat it.  Buster and Pam are great owners.  They have been very accommodating.
