Family Camping with our 02 F-250 and 27’ SunnyBrook 5th wheel

Group Tent Camp!

We went to camp here with our AHG group. We tent camped to complete one of their badges. We camp often and we enjoy it. The place is clean and organized well. The tent sights are elevated slightly which allows a nice “overlook” of the camp ground. Some tent spots were kind of sloped so be mindful of finding a good flat spot. Bath houses were clean and functioning. Good water front locations. We had a great time and recommend for a short stay.

Our favorite so far!

We planned this trip with my Aunt and Uncle and their family. Two campers and 11 people. We were able to get the camps together and it was great. Grassy spots but are very wide. We got there on a Sunday and left on the following Friday. We also rented a golf cart which is highly recommended. Great beach access along with all the conveniences of food and gifts. Kids had the best time of their lives here! We did too, we highly recommend this camp site.

Our first KOA

As the title describes, this was our first KOA experience. We usually stay at State Parks. Well it had rained the day we arrived and evidently the past few days because the camp was very muddy. The first site they tried to put us at was all grass and mud. No pavement or gravel. We had our 27’ 5th wheel camper. I kindly asked for a better site and they worked with us on a “better site”. 277 was our new site and it was also very muddy BUT did some enough concrete to set up the camper decent enough. The weather finally improved Monday and things started to dry up. The kid activities and the pool were nice and we enjoyed those. The mobile shower trailer was a no go for us because they were very dirty. We probably won’t come back here.

Really neat place!

So let’s start off by saying there is no camping! Not sure why but it’s blocked off. Which is fine cause we just went to visit. They have great plaque that explain everything about the area. Nice trails, beautiful sights and some really cool history. Nice little walk/hike. Also they have a small museum and store but I think was not open due to Covid.

We loved this place!

My wife and I are getting into Overlanding and we heard this was a good place for OHV trails and dispersed camping. We came down for just the day to check the Forest out. It was really wet and Sulfur Branch/Braddison was very torn up. We got stuck but was lended a hand. Other than that the place was taken care of and there was plenty of folks out that Saturday. The over looks are beautiful!! If your going to hit the trails either have a winch or wait till it’s dry! Have FUN

Very secluded!

We stayed here in the middle of July in 2019! Wow was it hot! It also had a bit of flooding, how ever it made it easier for our girls to launch their kayaks and swim. Great spot for kayaking and tent camping. We were the only ones there so it was perfect! Highly recommend for tent camping.

Nice small spot!

This is a nice small spot that has a boat ramp, and some decent RV spots. Just down the access road is some fantastic tent spots. We stayed here in the middle of July in 2019 and it was a scorcher! The water level was really high and there was some flooding but it’s a great spot for kayaking! We recommend!

Words Truly Can’t Describe

We are from TN, but my family has lived in the Upstate area for a long time. My family just recently found out about this place a few years ago. Well this was our first time out on the water and wow it was beautiful. Clean and clear water like we haven’t experienced before. Beautiful water falls! Also Nicely taken care of facilities! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our visit. We plan to bring our camper in the future and explore all this area has to offer.

Great place!

We stayed here on the 4th of July weekend 2020. We live an hour away and spend a lot of time on the lake during the year. We’ve wanted to take the camper down for some time now and we’re glad we did. Great place and nice folks just as we imagined it would be. Camp sites were pretty fair and they have a decent dump station. We had site 37 right by the water access and we really enjoyed it. We will be back!

Great place for family!

I’ll start with the reservations! Easy for sure, and they were great with last minute changes. The site was easy to get into with our 27’ 5th wheel. (Site16) plenty of recreational space on this site. We have two 10 year olds who had a blast riding their bikes. The park staff did a great job keeping the bath house very clean. Plenty of good hiking and views on all the trails. The Eagle trail was a great one!
