Description
Savage Gulf offers over 70 backcountry campsites across the park. A Permit must be obtained through the park for all backcountry hiking. Stagecoach Road Campground offers seven backcountry campsites with a maximum occupancy of six people per campsite and one backcountry group campsite with a maximum occupancy of 30 people. Coordinates listed on The Dyrt are reflective of park entrance and not the trailhead.
Entering from the Savage Gulf East parking lot; campground is 6.1 miles via the Savage Day Loop and South Rim trails. Entering from the Savage Gulf South parking lot; campground is 7.5 miles via the Collins Rim and South Rim trails. There is a seasonal stream nearby. Water may not be available during dry conditions.
