Huge disappointment

!Infested with termites! They price gouge. The lots are basically right on top of each other(some spots are not big enough for slide outs). The check-in lady is very condescending and will rob you blind while wearing the biggest smile. There's cornhole, a basketball hoop, and a volleyball net, but they are all falling apart or are inaccessible. No fire rings at your site. There's a huge hive of ground nesting bees by the picnic tables that are set up next to the pool. The pool area is also the only area in which you can access a fire ring. The lake is beautiful and is accessible to boats. Low riding cars beware of double speed bump and sinking concrete. There is no bathroom for the pool area. The maintenance man seems a bit unfriendly. They do not honor their online rates. 😒 We also had to move from a spot that we were already paying for bc she reserved it out from under us. I-40 echoes through the campsite. We were constantly woken up by j braking semis and emergency service vehicles. We will definitely not be visiting again.

Nice place to stay

This is a nice place to stay if you’re in the area. The site we had was a little small, but had full hookups. Also, we liked the trash cans all over for easy cleanup. Best part was the camp store where you’ll find some of the friendliest folks around.

Very Disappointing

We had reservations but on arrival someone else was in our reserved spot. The office was closed for the weekend and no one answering the phone to resolve the issue, so we moved on down the road (not sure how a business like this just closes up office for a weekend). After repeated voicemails left they finally called back 3 days later and told us standard camping practice is that if someone is in your site you just go take another site (please help me with this. I’ve been camping all my life, 50 years, and have never heard of such a practice). After some discussion they refunded our reservation.

As far as the campground on our very short visit, I’m not too disappointed this situation happened and we moved down the road. This place was a RV parking lot (see pics). I’ve seen RV places with really close sites, but this was ridiculous. Additionally, I-40 was literally about 200 feet away so highway traffic noise has to be an issue 24/7.

This one is on our do not return list.

Sufficient

Super nice employees. Campsites very close together.  We had to move from the first because on either side there was no room for our slide outs.  We were very close to I 40 and the road noise was extremely loud...all day and all night.  I probably wouldn't stay again only because of the road noise.

Great place

First time campers with 5 kids and 3 dogs .... had no problems everyone was very helpful , grounds were clean ... the lower bathhouse is Adequate but the bathhouse by the office is great the cove offers calm waters with allow the kids to kayak and explore without worry, we kayaked out to the river and up stream uncovered great views ... will definitely be back !

Primitive tent sites

The primitive tent sites are amazing, I didn’t give it 5 stars only because you can hear a little bit of road noise, as the campground is near the interstate. If you visit in spring, the lake water may not have risen yet, so summer would be better if you want to enjoy lake front camping! We took our rooftop tent and had a perfect corner spot next to the creek. Plenty of room on each site for tent camping. The bath house is pretty far away too. Overall, we love this campground, and the tent sites are the best, can’t wait to camp here this summer!

Great for a Staycation!

This campground is super convenient being just outside of Knoxville and right off I-40. That being said it is right off of I-40 so you do get some highway noise especially right next to the water. Water was way down this time so we chose to stay in one of the tent sights furthest from the water and interstate in our rooftop tent. Bathhouses have always been clean and maintained. Wish there was a way to book and pay online but overall a great little campground and I would have no problem recommending a stay here. Would be great for anyone looking to do some kayaking and or fishing.

Soaring eagle on the lake

We were in a pop-up camper and had a lakefront site, which was awesome, except for the highway noise. The campground is right off the interstate so definitely could hear traffic, but the lakefront double wide sites were great. Will plan to return in spring. The main bathhouse was one of the best I’ve seen, but we had to drive to it, as it was the end of season and the lake side bathhouse was closed. The staff was extremely nice and helpful when booking. I would recommend this campground, and will return next summer!

Great Place

We had a site on the water and it was beautiful. The shower house and bathrooms were clean and worked good. The office people with very friendly. We wanted to extend our 4 night stay to 10 had no problems. The rv park is right off a major interstate and easy to get to. The salt water pool was so relaxing and clean. Great stay.
