Cedars of Lebanon State Park Campground

Great Campground, Large Paved Pads, Close to Nashville, BUT CONSTRUCTION!

We camped here for 2 full weeks.  The campground at Cedars of Lebanon State Park deserves 5 stars for their proximity to Nashville, the large paved pads for campers, the peaceful woods, and their overall cleanliness.

However, we were here when there was construction going on.  It was LOUD from 8am to 4, 5, and even 6pm somedays with working trucks and digging up the Tennessee Rock.

The weekends were peaceful without the construction, and the trails are all easy and flat.  The showers worked well and were the typical campground showers.

The wifi that is listed on the website is basically nonexistent, so don't count on that for anything important.  But Verizon had good service, while AT&T was fair.

Only Campground 3 was open during our stay and you can see the work they are doing here is going to make a huge difference to be big rig friendly.  Enjoy!

    Highly recommend primitive camping

Stayed with our van in the primitive sites here and had a great time! Very affordable and not many other campers (but if the group camp sites are booked I’d go elsewhere, they’re very close). The bathroom is super far away, but there was a portable potty for a few days until they inexplicably took it away. If you have a camping bathroom setup and are comfy going to get water if needed, it’s a great value and gives you want more privacy.

Also the showers here are the best I’ve ever experienced at a campground. They have signs saying you can shower for $5 even if you don’t camp here.

Cedars of Lebanon State Park Campground

Scenic with lots to do, but sites were tight

We were so impressed with how much there was to do at this campground! There are so many trails, playgrounds, and bike/walk friendly roads. Our family of 6 stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time. The sites were a bit cramped (our rig is 31') and parking our truck was a bit tricky. The store was convenient ands the staff were helpful and very friendly. Would definitely stay again-- it was absolutely beautiful!

Great trails but lots of speed bumps!

Overall this is a nice place. We didn’t see any “transients,” which seems like an unkind way to refer to car campers. There’s a fully paved trail that is very nice when the other trails are muddy. The bathrooms were regularly cleaned, showers were free and hot.

We didn’t love that there are 5 speed bumps before you get to campgrounds 2-3. Prepare to jiggle your camper! Also, most people used rope lights and left them on all night. There was a lot of light pollution.

Not my fav but still a good option

I just feel like in this area you could find a better spot. Nice field near campsite. Hikers close by and idk about the bathroom situation but I couldn’t find them. Literally fine and clean though

    Southern Hospitality

Nice campground located on the Duck River in a TN state park. Enjoyed walking along the river.  It is not secluded and is right off a local highway but has many conveniences.  Across the street is the main park area with nice amenities -- kids playground, pool, disc golf, camp store, golf course and newly renovated park restaurant & visitor's center.  Everyone that I came into contact with was friendly and helpful.  It is a great place to relax but you still have many things to do.

Cedars of Lebanon State Park Campground

Great back to back weekends for two novice tent campers

We tent camped for two consecutive weekends at Cedars of Lebanon. We are local novice campers. The campsites were well maintained with electric and water hookups. The bathhouse at Campground 2 is quite clean and is newer than Campground 1. Both of our stays were in Campground 2 near the bath house. Our first visit was with our dog, second was without. The fire ring in our second stay was weirdly located. Firewood is for sale inside the park and late afternoons the campground host drives thru on a gator like vehicle and offers bundles for sale at $6 each. The place is busy and active but very chill.

We hiked a little on Saturday midday. When I say “hike” I mean we strolled on a trail. Very nice time.

Any critiques by us would be unwarranted. Folks who work there were quite nice. We are very early on the learning curve. That we were able to go and tent camp and have a good time at our age proves that COL is a great place for newer campers to enjoy. We plan to go back a lot.

    Very cute!

We liked this park a lot! Great bath houses and laundry on site. They sold ice and firewood at check in. There are larger sites on the first loop, middle loop is a bit tight with many transient people living out of vehicles. Loop closest to the store is all pull throughs so very convenient but you are stacked in close. Overall cute trails, splash pad was not open when we were there, programs for kids on the weekend and nice playground. Caves were very fun, some need permits!

    Not for me

Staff was friendly and the campgrounds were nice and clean. The camp lots were too close for my liking. Too much noise and I couldn’t find firewood anywhere. More of a family, social type park.

Nice campground if you are comfortable with a lot of people!

This campground has been fun for my partner and I. The shower rooms were a little gross, but we just wore our shower shoes and didn’t touch any walls lol. The hiking trails and frisbee golf has been super fun! We would definitely stay again, just in a more remote spot. Our site was in area 2 and they are very close to one another.

    Peaceful and Incredibly Friendly

Campground was very neat (fall in TN with leaves everywhere is a huge feat but they did it!) Bathhouse was clean and general store was great to have onsite. Staff was very friendly, just like fellow campers, as usual.

    Good Dispersed Camping

Went well. Camp staff were friendly and provided dry firewood. It was December so everything was too damp. Only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating is because I feel that the 2 dispersed sites were still a little too close. They sit about a few hundred feet apart so I could still see and hear my neighbors. Great trip regardless

    Primitive Sites=Incessant Noise

The primitive camping sites are directly across from three group sites, each of which accommodate up to FIFTY people. The problem with this is that most folks, like me,  book primitive campsites because they are looking to get away from the noise in the RV campground. There was no peace and quiet to be had, unfortunately, because there were several gigantic groups of kids camping in the group sites across from us.  The noise was truly constant up until quiet hours.  We were camping with another couple who was unable to get their young child to sleep until very late because of all the noise.  Speaking of kids, one of the parents in the jamboree across the street thought it was acceptable to bring her kids over to play in our campsite.

If you're looking for a Bonnaroo type camping experience with lots of cars, activity, and noise, you will enjoy the primitive sites here.  If not, I would actually suggest booking in the main RV campground or camping elsewhere.

On the plus side, the sites were well-maintained and site 15 was scenic and spacious.

Walls of Jericho - Clark Cemetery Backcountry Campsite

    Great for groups

This is one of the larger campsites available at Walls of Jericho and definitely the easiest to find. I have stayed here a couple of times and always enjoyed it. The one downside to this site is that it can get somewhat flooded after heavy rains. It can also get fairly crowded since there are multiple firepits and tent clearings not far apart from each other. This is definitely the best site if you have a large group or want to be able to set up multiple tents. It is also at an easy access point to the falls as well as the other trails in the area. The site has easy access to water most of the year and can provide space for over 10 tents. If it seems crowded and you want more privacy though you can turn left off the trail and walk a short ways to the horse camp which is more secluded and removed from the trail. My last suggestion is that if you are here on a clear night head out to the field abutting the site and enjoy some stargazing!

    Needs more info on site

Website said trail for primitive was good for beginners. It isn’t. That was a pretty difficult trail. Also for primitive don’t plan on bringing anything other than a backpack cause you will need your arms for support during certain climbs. They need photos of actual trail w/ site photos.

Cedars of Lebanon State Park Campground

    Serene and much to explore

I love staying here. After full-timing since October, this is the first place we have come back to. The park is so clean, has many trails and you have pretty big spaces available to camp.

Only downfall is that we didn’t have sewer hookup, but that
