Within Twin Lakes Game Production Area, Twin Lakes Campground provides free camping managed by State Fish and Wildlife on a gravel road system that can become challenging after storms. The campground sits adjacent to a lake where boaters and anglers are commonly seen throughout the day, with morning hours offering particularly active wildlife viewing as flocks of birds dive for food near the water's surface.
Six camping spots accommodate various RV sizes, with four sites positioned directly on the water and two larger sites suitable for bigger rigs. Each site includes a fire ring, though campers should note there are no picnic tables, water, or electrical hookups. Two vault toilets serve the campground, along with a small pavilion containing picnic tables. Cell service reaches the area with reported coverage of 2-3 bars on Verizon.
Access requires navigating County Road 7 and a dirt-gravel road that extends around the lake property. Brandon S. notes the campground is "a great well maintained spot in the middle SD farmland near a peaceful lake." Flies can be problematic during daylight hours due to nearby livestock pastures, though they subside after dark with basic insect repellent.
The 14-day stay limit provides flexibility for extended visits, while Woonsocket City Park offers an alternative with more amenities just over six miles north.
