With 70 sites accommodating RVs up to 70 feet, this KOA campground sits on the eastern edge of Yankton with full hookups and standard amenities. Reservations are available, and the facility allows pets throughout the property.
The campground features mature trees that provide shade across most sites, though spacing runs tight between neighbors. A swimming pool, playground, and jump pad occupy the central recreation area, while clean restrooms, laundry facilities, and a camp store serve daily needs. WiFi reaches most sites, though cellular service can slow during peak occupancy periods when the campground fills up.
Road conditions vary with weather, particularly after rain when puddles and mud affect the gravel surfaces. GoWhereYouAreDraw N. notes "roads need more gravel and there are a few serious dips and bumps in the roads" but praises the "super clean restrooms, and nice patio sites for the reasonable rate." The property maintains a dog park and keeps amenities well-maintained year-round.
Long-term campers occupy a portion of the sites, creating a quieter atmosphere in some sections. The Missouri River and nearby dam provide recreation options within five miles. For those wanting primitive camping, Green Island Primitive Camping offers a different experience across the river in Nebraska.
