The bathrooms were located by the camper areas and not the primitive area. Lots of room near the shelters for multiple tents. There was no management and they have a self pay system. We didn’t see a single park manager anywhere.
The orv area was amazing to take the jeeps out to! There’s trails, mudding areas, and areas called ledges for climbing. We will definitely be returning again!
Although we personally have not spent the night here, we visit it every chance we get since it is right in the town of Belleville. You can frolf, fish, have a picnic, go for a walk around the pond, and camp here of course. The thing I like the most is that it is right in town so you have the grocery store and gas stations all within 3 miles. There is also a swimming pool in town for the kids. You can kayak on the pond as well and there use to be small boats that would go on it as well!
This is a very nice campground. I was here for an overnight stay. Staff was very friendly. Sites are large pull through a with full hookups. They state there is free high speed wifi, However, while I was there I was unable to connect and it is not secure! The campground is well maintained and offers a quiet stop for those traveling through. It could also make for a better location for bigger rigs to stop and unhitch so that you can explore the area without a big rig on your back. I will certainly return here again!!
GREAT campground!! The people who own and run this place are just superb people! Genuinely nice and willing to help! The facilities are excellent and the lake is awesome! The store is stocked with about anything you could need and the prices are great! Highly recommended!!
Jeeping at Broken arrow is always so much fun! great people, great jeeping, great gathering with other jeepers, friends and a great guide for newbies ;) love it there!
Fantastic state Park with full hookups… Beach, fishing and a delightful small City of prairie dogs to entertain the kids for hours
Small town community shows through with their hospitality. Lots of fishing spots! There is a bar/restaurant as well! They tend to have live music pretty often in the summer.
It is a really great place to hangout and enjoy the outdoors with a picnic or fishing for the family
Good place to catch bass and frogs. Probably wouldn’t swim in the water. Gets blue green algae a lot.
I would say the only downside to this campground is the abu dance of snapping turtles you can still fish and kayak just no swimming.
6 mile hike to the overview of the dam is well worth the whole experience!
We drop in with the kayaks at this point and do a lot of fishing and swimming here
Must pay to be at any point in the Park, but it has lots of amazing points! Great fishing, lots of places to explore!
So many happy campers it is like a big family! Seasonal camper landing starts at $1500 for a full year spot. There is a family area and a swimming area with a park for the kids.
Great campground with caring staff. Run by the Corps of Engineers. Well-maintained and great prices. No water or sewer at the campsite, but they are close-by.
Booking is online. There are three lakes/rivers all within 5 miles of each other. Make sure to visit the dam!
