Beautiful lake

This lake is very pretty! Nice little trails all around the lake and most rv sites have a lake view. I have a 25’ camper and the site they put me in was pretty tight and on a hill as most are here. Took all my blocks and a couple big stumps but we got it figured out. We happened to be here Father’s…

A magical snow globe

I stayed for 2 nights in the off season. When I called ahead the hosts said it was on them due to the off season and said to enjoy the space. Very very lovey people. It was like as if I had walked into a wonderland of nature. The day was beyond perfect and the space was magical. I cannot recommend…

About This Campground

Iron Creek Lake is located in an untouched area of the pristine Black Hills west of scenic Spearfish Canyon. While it is off the beaten tourism path, a trip to the lake is just a 20-minute excursion south of Spearfish on a well-maintained gravel road. The lake was created through a WPA project to create jobs in the mid 1930s and to provide a recreation site in Lawrence County. The trail circling the lake is just about one mile in length, making the lake small enough to prohibit wakes and high-speed watercraft. The atmosphere is quiet and oriented towards families. Iron Creek Lake offers tent and RV camping with some electrical hookups available. The cost is $17 per night for a tent site for up to 4 people in the same immediate family, $5 extra per person above four. Campers/RVs cost $20 per site for up to 4 family members plus $5 extra per person above four. Electricity is $5 more per night, is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and may require extension cords depending on the site. Dogs are welcome but also cost $5 extra per dog per night in the campground. Dogs must be leashed at all times and are not permitted on the beach or in the swimming area. Some sites can also be rented on a monthly basis for a special rate. The twelve rustic cabins available for rent at Iron Creek Lake have more character than the typical campground cabins.
