    Excellent Stop tucked off I95

Stayed at #52 and it was very private, level, and clean!

The gravel kept the camper clean; the deck with bench, table and chairs, gas fire pit was super nice; the grill with picnic table were awesome. The plot abuts the grassy area but wasn’t too buggy.

We went on a walk with our girls around the camp site, to the doggy area (small bjt super cute with some see saws, etc.), around the lake, and read the historical signs. We checked out the giant chess board, playground, horse shoes, and corn hole.

COVID restrictions were really well explained. Masks suggested, pool sign up with rules posted. We signed up for 6:30 and the team thoroughly cleaned between us and the precious crew.

The food and store was super and reasonable.

Next time I will def check out the nightly wine or beer tasting.

Can’t say enough good things - will def be back!!

    Skidaway Island State Park Campground

    Beautiful Park in Great Location

This state park is close to a lot of things to do.  Very close to Wormslow Historic Site and Savannah.  The campground is really nice with large trees and lots of hanging moss.  We were in site 61 that was very deep and secluded with our picnic table set back from the road.  We had to park our camper crooked because of a tree and roots.  The bath house was nice and clean.  However the heat was broken on the hand blower in the women's side.

There are sites with full hook ups.  There are also nice trails with one that leads to an observation deck.  Also have bike rentals.

    Awesome State Park!

I have visited this campground twice and LOVE IT!!! Sites are wooded and private. They all have picnic tables and fire rings. Some of them are beachside, others are Marshside but they are all pretty wooded and private. They also have great walking trails and a fabulous camp store! Great picnic areas and a beautiful beach! What more could you ask for? Also the grocery store is right at the entrance of the park for all your necessities.

    Savannah South KOA

    Beautiful & Clean

This was our very first camping trip (2 adults, 2 kids & a Lab.) We arrived to friendly service & easily found our site (#6.) The tent sites are right on the water, which is home to swans, ducks, turtles & possibly gators too! The sandy pad for our tent was perfect, very level & comfortable. There was plenty of room for our big screened canopy, picnic table, chairs & fire ring. The views from the lake were wonderful & t made waking up to see the sunrise worth it every day.

This campground is about 30mins from Savannah & Tybee Island - both of which we visited & enjoyed.

The bathhouse & general store were very clean & located a short walk from the tent sites. There is also a playground & pool. The campground was quiet, we had no issues at all.

We will definitely be returning soon!

River's End Campground & RV Park

River's End - Well Kept KOA

Mainly a RV park, but about a dozen tent pads (fine gravel, well kept, no trash) in grassy lots with picnic table and fire pit. Family style bathroom/ showers. Office with coffee, games, books. Host on golf cart was helpful with last minute arrival and places to eat on island. 3 block walk to beach. There was also a larger group camping area - saw a scout troop there - these sites had water and power.

    Lots of options

I stayed in a back in site in camping area 2. I would call it big rig challenging w/the narrow road and tight-ish back in. I enjoyed the trails & observation tower as well as the cute little shop where you check in. My friend joined me over the weekend & her kids really liked the All About Bats presentation & the playground. Lots of deer & other wildlife to be seen. Shaded sites & mine was full hookup. Pet friendly & the laundry facility takes credit cards. They ended up renting a yurt which was cool. There are also cabins but we didn’t see those.

    Skidaway Island State Park Campground

    Simply wonderful !

Skidaway Island SP is quite possibly the nicest state park camping facility we’ve yet to visit! The sites are beyond spacious and afford plenty of privacy - and the hookups were conveniently situated at both sites we utilized during our visit. Huge, level tent pads for tent camping are also provided, as are picnic tables and fire rings. Shower and toilet facilities were clean and in excellent repair. The brand-new visitors center is beautiful and staff were courteous & professional to a person! Bird life is abundant and we had deer show up every day to check on us. Hiking trails are outstanding and the picnic/playground areas are fantastic. Skidaway Island SP is a gem with the added bonus of being just a 15 minute drive to downtown Savannah - we will undoubtedly be returning!

    Skidaway Island State Park Campground

    Fantastic camping closer to Savannah

This state Park keeps a very nice huge campground. It is well maintained. Our site was next to a new bathhouse with individual rooms for showers and restrooms. The sites are very spacious with a tent pads, picnics tables and a fire ring. They have full service sites and water/electric sites as well as tent sites. Dump station available as well. A very quiet and dark campground 25 minutes to Savannah, 30 minutes to Tybee Island.
