Nice location close to the park

When we first checked in at the resort, we enjoyed the easy check-in and the location was an easy to get to location. After checking in, we drove all around the campground just to get to our site which is a little out-of-the-way, but it was manageable. Our site was very unlevel, but we made it work. We did like being at the end of the road therefore there was less traffic coming through. we didn’t have a neighbor who had a lot more tents than they were supposed to have on their site and they were slowly encroaching on our site. We loved how our kids were able to walk to the playground and play every day before our outings. The campground had two pools and a child’s pool the pools seemed to be slightly under maintained the last day. It had a weird smell, which I believe the chlorine levels were not correct. However, we still enjoyed our time here and went to the pool almost every day at the end of the day off. It was one of the hottest days of the year. I feel like we still had a great time and enjoyed the camp. The trolley was a great addition to getting to and from the Hershey attractions

    Hersheypark Camping Resort

    Very tight spots and dirty!!

This RV camping spot has been my least liked place we have ever stayed.we stayed in a RV site so I can only speak to that and not cabins. The ONLY good thing this RV park has going is the Hersey park bus that runs all day back and forth. Even though the bus is very loud and drives very close to the sites, so it is a constant disturbance too if your looking for some calm and quietness. This is not the right RV park if you want quite!

These RV sites are the tightest I have ever seen. So tight that the people next to you using a picnic table or fire ring are 3-4 feet from your camper. We didn’t even use our fire pit and table because it felt so incredibly close to our neighbor. Inside our camper I could hear every word of the people next to us who were using their fire ring, it was directly outside my bedroom slide. I saw several people including us being asked to move trucks just so you can get into position to hook up and pull out of your spot!

And the sites are dirty! Littered with cigarette butts, trash, old rusty batteries! This place looks and feels like a dirty trailer park! There were several sites that looked like the campers had been living there a long time, clothes lines strung up from trees, cluttered mess of personal belongings. We will never stay here again after experiencing it. The website does not show the true picture!!

    Not worth it

Sad place multiple no functional area basketball court with no balls, floating ride "missing parts" no coffee at the store, no milk either, some staff nasty and rude. No cable no wifi this place has extra fees and charges for everything river front is tiny slippery maybe 8ft wide walk. Pictures are a stretch from reality.

    Poe Paddy State Park Campground

    Primitive peace

Would go back here again! Very primitive, only 2 sites with electric and no playground (but 4 swings), however the creek is beautiful and the kids were so happy to play in it. We had site 108 and had a site path right to the creek. I wouldn't recommend big campers as most of the spots would be a pain to back into. But if you're looking for a quiet campground in the woods, this is it!

    Artillery Ridge Campground

Camping as close to history as you can get

Spent a weekend at Gettysburg. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground, which served as an artillery storage/staging area for the Union during the battle. Behind the campsite we stayed at, we learned connected to Stangler Farm, which served as a hospital for the wounded. Literally right outside the entrance of the campgrounds is where the battlefield starts. So close to history. We have been to Gettysburg before, but going with the kids again being older, we all had a greater appreciation of the sacrifice of this 3-day battle. We did Park Ranger tours to learn about the 1st shot and how the war started to stand in the footsteps of General Buford at Senitary Ridge in the cupola overseeing the battlefield. Later in the day we took a horse carriage ride through the battlefields, Picketts Charge and the peach orchard with a private guide to learn every ounce of the battlefield and the major players to learn about the 3 days of fighting that took place to how the civilians of Gettysburg were impacted. The three day battle claimed over 50,000 lives and we toured the town of Gettysburg to learn how the community had to deal with the aftermath of the masses who perished, the smell which went on for over 30 miles and limited resources such as clean water. It's amazing to see how history was so preserved but right across the street from battlefields where so many died stands fast food restaurants, and hotels. A little surreal. Would definitely recommend a ride out to Gettysburg and this campground, which is right next to the battlefields. Clean facilities. If you are into horses, this is the place for you! Though sites are not very private, everyone is very respectful, and you are not on top of each other. Quiet hours are observed, which is nice too. Store has a great variety of souviners, treats, and emergency camping items. You can't get any closer to history than here. Would definitely recommend if you are looking to visit Gettysburg.

    Wonderful park!

We love this park….it's one of our favorites!  We have a small camper and there are some great sites on the lake side to park it where you can get AMAZING sunset views.  The restrooms at this park, while they are older, they are clean and pretty much in good order.  The lake is very nice and it's a very family park!  There are some neat places around and markets are close by.  Forry's drive in is great for an evening ice cream!

    Great park!

We had a great experience at Hersheypark Campground! If you’re planning on going to the amusement park, there is a shuttle on site that takes you straight to the park.

The spots are a little small, at least in the section where we stayed, but we have a small travel trailer so we didn’t have any issues. The bathrooms were clean and large. The store has just about anything you would need while visiting.

The security guard patrols the park at night, and he was very nice!

We were only visiting for a quick trip, but we would definitely stay here again!

The only downside was that since it was winter, we didn’t have water hookup.

    Friendly and very helpful staff

The area is beautiful and I would like to stay in the winter when many of the activities are available and it is warmer.  I am just learning about using a travel trailer and the staff was of great assistance.  They were easy to reach and were genuinely interested in my stay and plans.  They have a dog park which my dog loved.

    Travel stop

We camped in on of the cabins overnight on a recent road trip. Cabins are nice and spacious, bath facilities are some of the best I've seen. We didn't;t get to explore since we were traveling, but there's plenty to do in the area.

    Great location

If you are planning on going to Hershey Park or Chocolate world this is the place to stay. They have a shuttle that runs frequently bringing guests to the park. There are definitely some very small sites here, as mentioned by other reviews. We stayed on site 99 which is actually a pretty good size. With 2 kids being close to the pool and basketball court was great. There is a freight train that runs next to the park. It is loud but it didn’t bother us. It wouldn’t deter me from returning.

    Quick overnight

We arrived when it was dark out and had site #2. The camp hosts were fantastic and helped us back into a spot. The spot was hard to maneuver for a 41 ft 5th wheel because of the turning radius. There was also a drop off on the other side of the road which limited the turning radius as well. We only slept here but it looked like a nice place. The grounds are hilly.the well was dry so there wasn’t any water.

    Nice overnight stop

This is a big park. We just reserved one night as as an overnight stop after a 10 hr day of driving. We travel with a dog so our only choice for an electric site was on the Sycamore loop. The Oak loop does not allow pets. Sites we nicely laid out with level gravel and a fire ring. Looks like there lots to do around the park, especially for families.

At least it has a shuttle

I really don’t see how anyone could write this place higher than a Three to be honest. The spaces are so tight I could almost touch, my neighbors, RV, and mine without taking a step. pulling into the spot, my back and swung and broke the light off on somebody’s tire because there’s not enough space to even drive down the lane.

During the summer, the pool closes at 7 PM. No exceptions.

Most campgrounds this size will at least build a comfort station and laundry facility in the sections. Not here.

The pads are not as level as I saw in someone else’s s review. Our wheelspan from front to back has at least a 6 inch slope. There are several Class As on our row with wheels a couple of inches off the ground.

On a positive note, the grounds are well kept and most of their buildings and equipment are in good shape. They do have a sand volleyball court and a basketball court.

    Hershey Park Shuttle!

My friend chose this campground for the shuttle to Hershey Park. We were in site 130 which has electric & water and it’s right on the creek- very nice & quiet- the bathhouse is also near. The campground staff do a great job of keeping the grounds & buildings clean. The pools are nice & there are lifeguards. The playground is lacking. There are some annoying old fashioned rules in place, but all in all a nice place that I’d come again.

    Gettysburg Campground

    Quiet campground

With all the dogs and kids here we were surprised how quiet it was! Our camp neighbors were super friendly. Check in was 0 hassle. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the wifi is unusable and the campsites are very tight. We weren’t able to set up the pen for our dogs because there’s no room.

    Relaxing week great sites

Stayed in the modern camping section. Easy access to camp ground. The check in process was just to drive to the site and set up which was different but very easy. The sites are private on the sides with some green space to play on. Lots of extra places to park extra cars or bring a second vehicle with a boat.

The kids had fun riding the bikes around the loop and taking the short cuts cut in around the loop. We had fun walking to the foot bridge to go fishing.

The camping area was very quite both mornings and evenings. We saw the park rangers drive through multiple times per day.

The bathrooms were clean. There are no shelfs in the showers (except for a bar of soap) but they had hooks to hang your clothes.

The racoons were a fun surprise on our last night! We left the grease trap from the Blackstone out and the they found it. We did not see any bears though we heard they are there.

We had smoke from Canadian forest fires so haze in the pictures is smoke not haze or rainy days! The walking trails are great. You can see the largest white swamp oak in Pennsylvania!

Definitely check out Penns Cave too.

    Great place to get away

This was our second trip to Gifford Pinchot. This time we stayed in full hook up. Our site was long and narrow but backed up to a field. It’s a quiet campground. The bathhouse was fairly close and clean. Though it was rainy and chilly, we had fun hanging out at our site and our relatives site next to us. There is privacy at the sites because you sit at the back of a long campsite away from the road. Sites were gravel and some weren’t level front to back so adjustments needed to be made to level camper.

    Great

I bought my camper and immediately took it here for the weekend. 10/10 stars. The staff was extremely nice. Was easy for me to pull into. I didn’t have any issues. I ended up having a spot basically alone. Which was nice. My only small complaint was there was trash and pieces of glass in the playground. Which really isn’t the campgrounds fault more the people who use it. I don’t live far from the camp ground and I’m very impressed with how large it is. I can only imagine how packed it’ll be this summer.

Good for easy access to Knoebels

Took my family for the weekend so we could go to Knoebels. Between the shuttle and the people there, I had a very easy time getting to and from the park. I have a huge camper and was able to get around easily.

    Great family fun

This place was awesome! My children had so much fun. They had the entire weekend planned for us. My wife and I don’t like to so having a busy weekend for the kiddos was a great thing. There were so many activities to choose from.
