Nicely

Beautiful campsite. Out houses and water. Some sides are right next to the water. Might consider paying for your campsite online signs all over the place. This is not a first come first serve Campground. No Internet service on Verizon.

Great spot next to the river

This is a great campground with nice private spots. Spots 13 and 15 seem to be the best spots for the river and waterfall. Waterfall across from spot 13 & 15 was flowing well in May.

Nice campground on the Santiam

Trout Creek is a nice campground along the Santiam River. There is a small waterfall that runs into the river and a great spot for fishing. There are several trails for hiking; one that leads to the Walton Ranch Interpretive Trail.

We stayed in early June and it was still pretty rainy, so there were a lot of slugs and mushrooms.

First Visit

First camping trip of the year. Most of the sites were fairly private with vegetation separating them. Quiet too. We had a riverfront site but couldn’t see the river thru the forest and pictures were deceiving. Couldn’t actually access the water. Enjoyed day tripping to Green Peter/Quartzville and then Clear Lake the next day. Site got fairly muddy in the rain. Vault toilets were very clean. No camp host or firewood for sale even thought rec.gov said there was.
