Loved our stay!

My husband and do not typically like to camp at RV parks, however during a busy 4th of July weekend we found openings here and ended up loving our stay! The beach and creek access was so convenient. Was not a fan of the onsite Mexican restaurant, but didn’t have very high expectations anyways. The office staff were very friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait to come back!

Make sure you visit Secret Beach during your stay, just a short drive down the road.

Boo

Didn’t have a great time at this rv park.

  1. I thought the hot tubs were for everyone, nope you must reserve and pay for a special rv space. Serious Bougie stuff.
  2. They were out of ice so I had to go into town.
  3. Lots of trash at my site
  4. Neighborhoods blasted music refused to turn it down, I called the office and they did “it’s not that loud…”

Seriously? Well I don’t want to pay to listen to someone playing Green Day all evening. Boo. After 2 phone calls they said I cold move to a site that looked at the dumpsters. Why would you put the dumpsters right across from sites?

Also realize the closer you are to the beach, the closer you are to the highway 101. Beach access was very nice, but overall I didn’t enjoy my stay and left as soon as I could.

A definite repeat for camping.

We have visited Turtle Rock RV Resort twice and both times it was a very positive experience. Some of the sites are a little close, but if you do your research and reserve a space early, you can get a great space. We love being right on Hunter Creek. A short walk to the beach. A short to the Mexican restaurant next to the campground office. Good food, reasonable prices, and a friendly staff. We attended the annual music festival which is held there and it was great! We always use full hookups so I can't comment on the bathrooms and showers. Campground was clean and they even watered the dirt road to keep the dust down. Staff was very helpful and friendly on the phone and in person. Their web site is easy to use for choosing your space. We plan on return trips often.

Would be a good deal if it was half the price

Ocean is beautiful, short walk through campground to get there. The Rogue River enters the Pacific here, so there are Cormorants, Great Blue Heron, and many gulls and ducks. Unfortunately the campground Is run down, showers have holes in them, fans don’t work and are dirty. Campsites are very close together, and those using hot tubs have little privacy.

Multiple Stays

Every year my family gets together for a family campout. We have stayed at Turtle Rock RV several times. Just past the entrance to the park is a little tavern that has a lot of seating and some really good food. Next to the office where you check into the park is a Mexican restaurant to which we will probably never return to. Inside the park is lots of open space and they provide camping for large pool through vehicles, cabins with hot tubs, and tents. While the tent spots we have not used, we have used the cabins and the RV spots. I think most of the cabins have hot tubs, and some of the RV spots also have them. There is a path to the beach which goes under Hwy 101 and it a fairly short walk, BUT it is not path for folks in wheelchairs of any kind and those who are not stable on their feet. My Dad who is 82 years old does walk there though. The cabins are fully equipped with most cooking utensils that you will need. They are clean and fairly roomy. It is a short distance to the town of Gold Beach where there is just about anything you would need. We always look forward to camping there and try to camp there at least once a year.

Great little park in the middle of a beautiful stretch of coastline!

This was the first time I'd been to Oregon in several decades, and first trip with our new trailer outside of our home state, and it did not disappoint. Turtle Rock is a great little RV park tucked right in this little cove off the ocean, it's not massive so you don't feel like you're gonna get lost, but you're not packed in right on top of your neighbor, either. There are plenty of amenities, including a delicious Mexican restaurant, horseshoes, volleyball, a nice bath house with laundry. They even have these cute tiny-house cabins that you can rent, some with patios and hot tubs!! The staff were all SUPER friendly, and helpful, and just genuinely pleasant to be around, and even though we visited in the middle of the pandammit, everyone was in good spirits. We will DEFINITELY be back!

I miss it everyday

I loved this place. So serene. We had a spot backed up to the river and enjoyed every sunset. The facilities were clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We were close to a few stores and restaurants. Plus the ocean was unreal.

Would not recommend for tent campers

I found this site on the Dyrt before my trip as I was looking for a campsite for my Oregon Coast road trip. It was very convenient to get to from 101.

I got an email shortly after booking saying that they had moved my site from the one I selected due to construction. to be sure, when I got there, lots of construction was happening. I feel like I was moved to a place that was not a real site though, because the sign was handmade and it was very spacious, with the fire ring (not used in a long time and full of grass) very far from the picnic table. Space is fine, but this was too much and I felt kind of awkward as the only tent camper in the center of a ton of RVs.

The bathrooms were fine. There were 2 near me in the "bathhouse" and they required a code to get in, and one was out of toilet paper, with none to be found under the sink. There were showers in the bathrooms also, but I definitely wouldn't use them without shower shoes.

Very nice and clean

This place was wonderful. Very nice and clean. The camp sites were a little small, you could clearly hear the neighbors. But wow was the view great, never mind my kids being scared for life from the near by neighbors.

Almost Perfect

This is a fantastic campground on Hunter Creek just south of Gold Beach. It’s is right up against the 101 and that’s the only reason it’s not 5 stars in my view. The traffic noise isn’t that bothersome especially overnight, but it does detract. Beach access is right out of the back of the park. Hunter Creek looks like a great sheltered place to kayak. The sites have full hookups including sewer and there is also a dump station. Cable TV hookups were a nice plus. Some sites even have their own hot tub.

Minor downsides were low water pressure at times and the WiFi signal not making it all the way to the west end of the park. That all said we will definitely stay here again.

What a great place!

Charming campsite. We were next to the bathroom but still had plenty of privacy. The staff was very friendly. The location next to the river is beautiful and the short walk to the ocean is so convenient.

Lovely!

We landed here via the DYRT App!  Traveling up through Oregon and looking for full hook up, we found Turtle Rock!

It was nice, clean and an easy walk to beach if you can climb a very short rocky hill!  Really not a problem but for people that may have a disability, it might be.

The road is above as you’re facing the ocean and you go under it to the beach along a river that lets out at Turtle Rock!

There’s a store and a Mexican restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner!  Campground users receive 10% off!

I enjoyed our stay!
