Last minute stop

Self check in campground with reservable sites, pick an unreserved and check in at entrance kiosk. Road is rough but site blacktop are somewhat level but rough old blacktop. Some sites are too close to the road and some nice ones by the river. No showers were available due to water shortages. Bathrooms are a little rundown.

Good low key campground - dump station broken

We like this low key and mellow campground. And the river is so high now! The very friendly host told us that they’re releasing a lot of water from the dam in anticipation of snow melts filling the dam up- that Crater Lake got 29 ft of snow this year!

Day use fee is $4. Dry spots are $25/night, electric and water spots are $30. The dump station is out of commission, for good. The host said the nearest dump station is in White City.

Firewood is available at $6/bundle.

There is a playground in the middle of the campground loop. Site #27 is right by the playground, so heads up on that!

You can make a reservation online or by phone, or come and grab a site and pay when you arrive. The hosts do a good job of marking future reservations so you can pick a site that is available. The big downside for this campground is the road noise. I’d definitely stay on the side of the campground away from the road if you can, as the road is just literally right behind the sites on that side of the loop. Almost nobody there on a Sunday in late May, but it gets busy on weekends.

Elk Grove

It is a beautiful campground. However theres one shower for ladies in the bathroom. The feminine hygiene waste hasn't been emptied in the last 2 days... It's full. The bathroom floors are dirty. Our neighbor has had a hacking cough which is scary and there are currently no fires allowed.

Decent campground

This park is located between the Rogue River and the highway. Road noise is a problem.

There were also a lot of fish flies crawling and buzzing around (see previous review!). If you’ve never seen a fish fly Google them they are quite large and like to land on you!

The campground is fairly open space so you can see just about everyone there from any given spot. The sites are paved and the loop is paved though there are some big potholes. All sites have picnic tables and fire pits. Some sites have electric and water but no sewer. The dump station was closed for repairs and the ranger said it will not  be fixed for some time. There are bathrooms and showers at 50 cents for 4 min. There is also a playground that sits right about the middle of all sites. Water spigots were located throughout the campground and there was garbage but no recycling.  There is a Little Free Library book exchange at the host site. The campground has a mix of sun and shade. The river at this time was extremely swift so be aware if you have dogs or kids. The river bank is overgrown but there is a boat ramp.

$26/water electric hook up and $22/no hook ups.

Verizon and TMobile 2-3 bars LTE Roaming, very weak signal

Four-inch Bugs!

So I paid for just one night and as I arrived there was no indication of where the hosts were. I knew my site so I drove to it and sure enough, it had my name and was reserved. I had already paid fees in advance so I figured if anybody needed me they would find me. The table and firepit were a distance from parking which normally would be good except that I have a truck tent and like to park closer. I got into the bed of the truck to begin setting up the tent when I noticed this 4-inch locus looking thing on my tailgate. I love nature but bugs creep me out. I quickly shut things down and got out of Dodge. It might be a nice enough park but I was already having nightmares of these big bugs all over my tent and truck.

Gorgeous hidden gem

We can here fairly regularly with our kids and it's a great family friendly spot, although they're us neber a problem with anyone having a goodtime. Very laid back (as long as you pay your fees upon arrival) they have clean facilities, a playground and a great spot to camp!
