This is a large dispersed campground with no formal parking or camping units located along the Snake River in Hells Canyon. Used by both tent campers and RVs the area offers a place to camp along the Snake River. Few amenities exist, there is one outhouse and informational sign at the pull in to the parking area.

Big Bar Campground

The Fish Lake Campground is located adjacent to the picturesque Fish Lake in the Wallowa Mountains. As a high elevation campground visitors enjoy fishing, boating, and hiking at the nearby wildernes and non-wilderness trailheads. Six of the 21 tent/trailers sites have been constructed to accommodate persons with disabilities, and 6 sites on the upper loop are available for RV's longer than 20 feet. Considerations: Mosquitos! and dropping water levels in late summer.

Your front yard is 30 acres of woodland with the Wallowa River running through. Fishing is good. So is playing in the river.

Evans Farm - Glamp on the River

Situated along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway and Wild and Scenic Imnaha River, Blackhorse Campground offers campsites for both tents and trailers/RVs. Popular activities include; fishing in the river, picnicking, exploring along the byway, visiting interpretive and historic sites in the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, and hunting during the fall big game seasons.

The Ollokot Campground is located in an old growth ponderosa pine forest along the Wild and Scenic Imnaha River. As a favorite weekend 'get away' or summer destination site, the area remains popular for those wanting to fish, pick berries, take day hikes, or explore along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway. The campground has accessible campsites, a well for drinking water and vault toilets.

Ollokot Campground

The Windy Saddle Trailhead is the main access point into the Hells Canyon Wilderness from Idaho. Located on the saddle going to Seven Devils basin or up to Heaven's Gate Lookout the area offers a great view of the Seven Devil mountain range and Hells Canyon area. This site provides access to Seven Devils Trail #124 and Sheep Creek Trail #53 which enter Hells Canyon Wilderness. Windy Saddle Horse Camp

Lost RV Park - 55+ 

The Seven Devils Campground is a small rustic facility located near the Hells Canyon Wilderness. The site is set in a cool fir and spruce forest and has 10 tent-only campsite sites. A short walk from the campground is Seven Devils Lake which offers fishing, photography and a chance to view scenery and wildflowers.

Saddle Creek Campground is a smaller site located on the rim of Hells Canyon along the Hat Point Road. With 7 walk-in tent-only sites, visitors can enjoy a remote campout or just picnic and look across Hells Canyon at the Seven Devils Mountains in Idaho. The area was heavily burned with wildfires in the past so shade and mature trees are scarce near the campground. Hells Canyon National Recreation Area

Saddle Creek Campground

Dispersed camping is a popular camping method for many visitors to the Forest.  Choosing to camp along a stream or adjacent to a  meadow where there are no picnic tables, toilets or firerings allows campers to enjoy a more primitive experience.

It is recommend that dispersed campers keep to traditional campsites off of established 'two-track' vehicles routes which have been used in the past. Most of these routes are less than 300 feet from a designated open road.

There are some areas on the Forest that are closed to dispersed camping. These include administrative site, special use permit area, or sensitive areas for archeology or wildlife.

Please remove all temporary structures before you leave such as meat poles, toilets, furniture, and ditches around your tents. These include regulations like forest-wide camping stay limits; use of camp fires, firearms, and fireworks; and controlling pets.
