Along the Nestucca River in western Oregon's Coast Range, Alder Glen Recreation Site sits on BLM-managed land with water hookups for RVs up to 90 feet. The campground charges $15 per night and accepts reservations, though campers should expect rough access roads leading to the site. Multiple campsites line the riverbank, with the most coveted spots positioned directly creekside.
The layout favors tent campers and RVers alike, with several sites large enough for multiple tents. A fishing pier connects to an accessible trail, and campers frequently mention the proximity to water as a key draw. Kyle H. notes "multiple camp spots along the river" with a waterfall nearby. The campground maintains restrooms that receive regular cleaning service, and a camp host sells firewood on-site.
River access dominates the camping experience here, with many sites offering direct paths to the water. The terrain remains relatively open compared to heavily forested campgrounds in the region. Trash service and potable water add convenience for extended stays. For campers wanting additional forest service options, Elk Bend Campground operates a few miles northeast with different amenities and terrain.
