Within Keystone Lake's protected area, Walnut Creek operates as a Corps of Engineers campground that draws visitors primarily for water access and RV camping. The facility sits on the shores of the dammed Arkansas River, where Keystone Lake provides the main recreational focus.
Sites accommodate RVs up to 50 feet with electric, water, and sewer hookups available at rates ranging from $15-30 per night. Jolene C. found it a "beautiful small RV area overlooking lake" with both back-in and pull-through options. The campground includes some sites with electric-only hookups, while others provide full utilities. Shade trees cover many sites, though coverage varies across the camping area.
One bathroom facility serves the entire campground with running water, flush toilets, and showers. Reviewers note maintenance can be inconsistent, with some finding cleanliness issues during their stays. The campground allows pets and campfires, with picnic tables at each site. Kayaking represents the primary activity, though bank fishing also draws visitors to the lake's edge.
Access from nearby Prue keeps the campground convenient to town amenities. The facility works well for RV travelers seeking lakeside camping with full hookups, particularly those planning water-based activities on Keystone Lake.
