Several RV parks sit within 30 miles of Waverly, West Virginia, offering a range of amenities for motorhome travelers. Blennerhassett RV Park in Belpre provides full hookups with 50-amp service and is designed to accommodate big rigs with level sites and easy access. Shadow Lake RV Resort, open year-round, features spacious RV sites with full hookups including water, electric, and sewer connections. North of Waverly, Stockport RV Park offers big-rig friendly sites with 50-amp electrical service and complete hookups. Cokeley Campground at North Bend State Park provides RV sites with water and electric hookups (both 30-amp and 50-amp available), though without sewer connections at individual sites. "The campground is beautiful and peaceful, especially at this time of year as most of the campers have either gone south, closed up or pulled out for the season," noted one RV traveler about Shadow Lake.
Navigation to these RV parks requires attention to road conditions, particularly for larger motorhomes. While Blennerhassett and Marietta RV Parks offer relatively straightforward access from major highways, reaching Cokeley Campground with a big rig demands careful planning. One traveler mentioned, "Neither are easy to get to when you have a big rig!" regarding North Bend State Park's campgrounds. Most parks in the region maintain sanitary dump stations for RVs without full hookups. Cell service varies significantly - Verizon generally performs best throughout the area, with some parks offering WiFi near their office buildings. Pet policies differ between parks, with most allowing pets on leash, though Stockport RV Park does not permit pets. Seasonal availability should be verified before travel, as Rivers Bend RV Campground operates only from May through October, while others like Shadow Lake remain open year-round.
"Large open campground minutes from downtown Marrietta OH owner and Staff are very friendly and easy going! Clean, nice newer bath house."
"While an RV park, you can also tent camp with the amenities, making it really nice. Electrical hookups and water at your site, plus clean bathrooms and a shower house on the property."
"Every site is a pull‑through, long enough for just about any rig and tow vehicle, with a simple grass‑and‑gravel setup that only needed minimal leveling."
"Small privately owned campground about 15 min off I-77. We stopped for an overnight on our way north. Right on the Ohio River. Tight spots, but pretty level. The owner, Max, is amazing."

from $50 - $56 / night
"We came to Shadow Lake in October to camp for the month. To get here, you must drive through the rolling hills of Southern Ohio, which is absolutely gorgeous in October!"
"The laundry mat washed and dried great. As a construction worker I have payed way more for way less. This place is gem for construction/oil field workers in the area."
"We chose rivers edge for our annual father son getaway and we were not disappointed. The tent sites are right next to the water and there is a beach and dock nearby also."
from $30 - $60 / night
"Only stayed for a night but it was very quiet and only a handful of other campers. All the sites seemed relatively level."
"The spots are mostly level and there are two bath houses onsite. The bathrooms are pretty basic but they have hot water and so far I’ve had them mostly to myself. And it’s only $30 a night."
from $30 - $40 / night

Camped here for the Mothman Festival in mid-September. Fine folks running the place - the 90+ y.o. matriarch takes the money and calculates tax by hand. Make note that the pictures posted on the website are VERY outdated; the facilities are derelict in comparison. We were just there to camp so it was fine for our purposes (i.e., no need to use the event space (closed I think), pool, playground, etc.). Tent camping is a free-for-all first-come first-serve. If rain is in the forecast, don't pitch a tent by the river; many sites on the floodplain had washed out after a heavy overnight rain. Also notable, the bathrooms were perhaps the nastiest I've seen at any campground. I don't think they cleaned them once during our two-night stay, and just progressively smelled more and more like urine as the weekend progressed.
Great view of the sky for stargazing and telescopes at the sites in 40s. Trails are a little neglected though; lots of downed trees and faded blazes. Maybe it’s late in the season, and they will improve in the spring.
Laid back rv park on the Ohio river plenty of room. 10/10
We thoroughly enjoyed this camp spot right on the river. LOTS of different birds. And it was so quiet!
Ive camped here a few times in the kast few years and have really enjoyed it. They just put in a spigot to get water from. There is vault toilets. They cut down some brush to make a few trails that you can hike. This campground is surrounded by other free campgrounds in Jesse Owen's state Park but this is the only one that gets cell service. You are allowed to run generator.
Sites are small - especially the ones with power. Bathrooms are dirty and very worn out. Only 1 of 3 of the mens showers were working. Lots of spiders in the bathrooms and the stall doors don't latch effectively. Camp store (and access to ice) was closed for 'remodel'.
It rained a lot (not the park's fault) so it was pretty muddy the whole time I was there. I switched from site 7 (next to the bathhouse) to site 8 midway through, and both were fine and relatively quiet. It was busy and the bathhouse was kind of gross, but I guess that comes with the territory.
Not our favorite. Very small campground. Good hiking trails. Decent beach. Very hilly. Shower house was kinda gross.

Most RV parks in the area remain open year-round, though winter conditions may affect road access and water availability.
