West Morris Mtn.

West Morris Mountain Campground operates as a US Forest Service facility with 14 sites accommodating RVs up to 35 feet and offering both drive-in and walk-in access. Located within Uwharrie National Forest, the campground charges $10 per night and provides pit toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site, though no water or electric hookups are available.

The loop road provides what one reviewer describes as "super easy access for any car," while the forested setting keeps all sites in full shade throughout the day. Campers consistently note the cleanliness of facilities, with daily maintenance of the pit toilets and regular restocking of toilet paper. The campground typically sees light use, giving visitors space between sites rather than crowded conditions.

Camp With Me found it a solid alternative to "the dusty camping over in the OHV area of the forest," noting that it was clean with "not a lot of people." The facility includes trash bins distributed throughout the loop and allows both pets and campfires. For additional camping options in the region, campers can explore campgrounds near Troy.

Nearby alternatives include Uwharrie Hunt Camp 1.5 miles west and East Morris Mountain 2.2 miles east for those wanting to compare forest service options.

Guests frequently mentioned the peaceful wooded setting with well-spaced, level sites and basic but maintained facilities. No hookups available, but many found the quiet atmosphere and site quality worthwhile for the $10 nightly rate.

Great campground for $10

We were coming through the area and wanted an alternative to the dusty camping over in the OHV area of the forest. We where happy with the West Morris Mountain Campground. Not a lot of people and everything was clean.
